Ned looked at Alexis, stunned for a minute. How could
she not know? he
wondered. How could she not have known all along? Maybe
he hadn't told her,
but...
He pushed a piece of hair off of her cheek and tucked
it behind her ear. "Of
course I meant it." He said so softly. "I love you, Alexis...so
much."
She looked stunned and a little scared, he noticed. He
could've kicked
himself; he'd pushed her. "I'm sorry, Alexis. Please,
don't go. I didn't mean
to scare you..." He tried to get her to look at him.
"No; no. You didn't." She whispered softly, her face inches
from him; he could
feel her soft, warm breath on his face. She finally looked
at him. "Shh...Ned.
You didn't scare me. I'm not going anywhere." She promised.
"I'm staying right
here--if you want me to that is."
"I do. So much." He told her. "Does that mean you'll stay tonight?"
She leaned up and kissed him tenderly. "Yes; I'll stay."
Before he could
respond, she pressed her lips to his again, this time
the kissed turned into
searing passion.
Her hands found his shirt buttons and started undoing
them and he had little
trouble with the zipper to her dress. Soon, the food
in the picnic basket, the
stars, regrets, and everything else except the two of
them was forgotten as
she was pushed softly onto the blanket. He pulled away
ever so slightly.
"Are you sure?" He asked her softly, needing to know she
wouldn't regret
making love to him. She nodded. "I need to hear you say
it, Alexis." He told
her softly.
"Make love to me." She said softly, betraying slight vulnerability
along with
her desire and, yes, love. A voice that erased any qualms
he'd had about doing
so.

"I am restless, I suppose." Jerry Jacks admitted.
"You know what I think?" Bobbie asked after the silence
had settled in for a
moment. "I think that you don't know what you want. From
me. From yourself.
From life. Not from anyone or anything."
"That's what you think?" Jerry asked. "Believe me, I know
what I want from
life. I want to have a few laughs, a good time, a great
ride..."
"That's a copout." Bobbie said, shaking her head. "Having fun isn't a goal."
"You can ask my brother; for me, it's a career choice."
Jerry smiled
winningly.
"I think," she started. "You need to figure out what you
want--if not from
life--at least from me. And who you are. And when you
can tell me that," she
smiled as she got up. "Give me a call."
~~
"She's ready." The man assured Helena. "No one will ever
know that she isn't
who she says she is."
"Good." Helena smiled. "I needed this to happen yesterday,
but tomorrow will
have to do."
"These things take time..." The man started.
"Oh, of *course* they do; I understand that." She smiled
coldly. "Which is why
you have survived." She looked back at the woman,
a smile playing on her
lips.
~~
"No..." Brenda said softly. "No. She had to. That has
to be a mistake...
No..." She broke into sobs.
"Shh...I know. I'm sorry." Jax pulled her into a hug as she broke down.
~~
"Our main suspect is Moreno." V told Jagger, going through the files.
"Nah; can't be." Jagger said, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Why not?" V asked.
"Why?" Jagger asked. "We don't know too much, but we do
know that it's obvious
for Moreno to want to get Morgan now. Too obvious."
"You think?" V asked.
He nodded. "It doesn't feel right. Are there any other suspects."
"Well...sure. There's Carlos... lots of others..." She
said, thinking about
her conversation with Jax.
"Anyone who sticks out?" Jagger asked.
V hesitated. "Um...well, Jerry Jacks." She said finally.
"Hmm..." Jagger said, taking another sip of coffee.
~~
"So, how's my fiancee?" Joe Scanlon asked as he approached
Karen, who was
waiting for him at the Recovery Room.
"She's floating on cloud nine." Karen said giving Joe
a kiss. "I love that
word: fiancee." She smiled and kissed him again, "and
I love you."
"Mmm... I love you too." Joe murmured after yet another
kiss. "Fiancee,
fiancee, fiancee..." He smiled. "I love the affect that
word has on you." They
kissed again.
~~
Across the room from Karen and Joe, Chris and Eve were
eating dinner, pretty
mcuh in silence when Eve sighed.
"OK, I'll bite; what's wrong?" Chris asked her.
"Nothing." Eve sighed; she glanced over at a very happy Karen and Joe.
"Sickening isn't it?" Chris followed her gaze.
"Very." Eve commented. "How can anyone be so happy?"
"It's the full moon; it makes people crazy." Eve shook her head.

Alexis and Ned were lying on top of half the blanket with
the other half
draped over them. She was in his arms, looking up at
the sky. She smiled. "It
really is a beautiful night." She said softly.
"Hmm..?" Ned asked. "It's a nice night, but *you* are
beautiful." Ned
commented softly. "So beautiful." He brought her hand
to his lips and kissed
it; she smiled. "And I love you, Alexis. I love holding
you in my arms. I
*missed* holding you in my arms... God, I missed you."
"I missed you too." She told him softly, turning over
to kiss him. "I missed
you too."
"Now nothing can take you away from me
We been down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more..."
"Baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven..."
"Oh - once in your life you find someone
Who will turn your world around
Bring you up when you're feelin' down..."
"Yeah - nothin' could change what you mean to me
Oh there's lots that I could say
But just hold me now
Cause our love will light the way..."
"And baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven..."
"I've been waitin' for so long
For something to arrive
For love to come along..."
"Now our dreams are comin' true
Through the good times and the bad
Yeah - I'll be standin' there by you..."
"And baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven..."
