Michael walked in to see his dad hooked up to a life support
machine.He sat next to him.His tears fell quickly and he had
realized he had never seen his dad in the hospital before.He
couldn't stand the sight.It hurt him more than he thought it
would.He took his dad's hand and his sobs filled the room.He
felt a soft touch on his shoulder and looked up to see the
last person he would have ever expected.
Carly jumped up,"None of your business!Your not my
mother!Your Carly's mother!I don't owe you any kind of
explaination now please leave!"Carly shouted putting a hand
to her stomach and inhaling deeply feeling the baby inside
not liking this arguement at all.
"Carly,are you ok?"Bobbie saw her pained look and the way
she held her stomach.
"Please go."Carly cried while she begged Bobbie.
"Carly,are you--oh my god."Bobbie's mouth dropped,"Your
pregnant."
Carly's tear fell more fluently than before,"Are you mad?"
"Mad?"Bobbie sat her back down,"Of course not.Who's the
father?"
"I got knocked up by a stupid,pathetic,careless bastard does
that answer your question!"Carly replied.
"You have got to take it easy,Carly."Bobbie warned her.
"Uh hello!"Carly getured to her surroundings,"I wouldn't
exactly call this a vacation!"
"How far along are you?"Bobbie questioned looking at her
figure.
"Almost five months."Carly took deep breaths and calmed
down.
"Five months!"Bobbie hesitated,"Ok,Carly,I know that jail
food isn't great but you have got to eat all your food and I
am going to try to get you out here,Sweety."
"How?"
"Well,this baby gets you a get out of jail free card."Bobbie
sighed.
"No!"Carly screamed,"I won't let you do that!"
"Why not?!"
"Because I won't let anyone use my baby!This is a human
being inside me not some legal negotioation!"Carly cried.
"Carly,I know you don't want to use your baby but you have
got to get of here.Your pregnant you have to take care of
yourself!For you and the baby!"
"My baby is my responsiblity and I will not let any one use
her!"
As soon as she heard her Bobbie felt a little
sidetracked,"Her?Do you know that for sure?"
Carly smiled sadly,"I just have a feeling.That's all."
"Carly,I know you love this baby.I can tell by the way your
talking but Jason is sick.They don't know if he's going to
make it."Bobbie brought this up and Carly closed her eye
letting the salty tears that filled her eyes
fall,"Sweetheart,Robin and Michael are the only witnesses
besides you.I need something to prove it and I don't if I
can.Now,this baby is your only chance at staying free if
Jason dies."
"No!!!"Carly screamed,"Don't say that!"
Bobbie hugged her quickly to calm her down,"Ok.I'm sorry.All
I'm saying is..."
"Don't say anything.Please."Carly begged,"I can't take
it.Not now.Jason and Michael their all I've got to get my
life back.I can't lose either one of them."
"I know,Carly.I know."Bobbie whispered as she hugged her
again and tried to remember how scared Carly really was.
"Maddy."Michael spoke softly and stood to hug her.
Maddy held him tightly trying to bring him some kind of
comfort,"You ok,Kid?"
Michael slightly laughed at the name.He hadn't heard it for
awhile.Carly's nickname for him kind of grew on him after
awhile,"I'm not doing to good.They don't think my dad's
going to make it."Michael pulled away and shoved his hands
in his pockets.
Maddy grinned with the corner of her lips,"Well,you know him
better than anyone else right?Don't you think you know more
about him than some doctor?"
Michael nodded happily,"Your right.I know my father.He'll
make it."Michael turned to Jason and sighed.Michael was
shocked that once she said that he felt better.He's gaze
drifted back to Maddy,"Why are you here?I mean not that I
don't want you here it's just... a lot of things are
happening."
Maddy inhaled deeply and looked away,"I'm here for you and
for Babs.It's all over the place Michael.They actually think
one of closet friends in the whole world shot and tried to
kill somebody!I know her she wouldn't do that.She... cares
about your dad she wouldn't shoot him.I know she
wouldn't!"Maddy was obviously very upset by all this.Tears
began to fall from her big blue eyes as she said this to
him.
"I know she didn't.I was there."Michael agreed.
Maddy's eyes widened,"What?!"
"I was there when it all happened.My mom didn't shoot my
dad."
"You have to tell somebody!You have to tell the cops right
now!"
"Maddy!I did!"Michael shouted and they lowered their voices
for Jason,"They don't believe me.Robin Scorpio told them
that I would do anything to keep her out of jail since she
was my mother which is a lie!But that's what she said and
her uncle being the commissioner doesn't really help
me!"Michael tried to calm his temper.
"Commissioner,huh?Well,I am going to go down there and feed
him a piece of my mind!"Maddy stated and began to stomp
away.
Michael spun her back around to him,"Maddy,wait!"Maddy
looked up at him and he had to ask,"Why is this so important
to you?What's my mom to you?"
Maddy's expression sadden,"Michael,you know about my
past.You know about my father and my mom.You know I was
terrified.Anyways,Babs,your mom helped me.I was afraid and I
was alone."Maddy tried to hold back her tears but couldn't
help it anymore,"She took care of me for awhile.She let me
roam with her and looked for me.But...the thing that she did
the most for me is...."Maddy hesitated and swallowed
hard,"She took care of my dad."
"Your dad?What did she do to your dad?"Michael frowned and
held her hands.
"Well...as you know my dad sexually abused
me.Remember?"Maddy painfully brought this up but it got
easier for her each time she said it.
"Yeah,I remember."Michael whispered trying not to bring this
up further.
"One day when your mom and I were walking my father spotted
us and approached us with the same hostility he always had."
"Oh my god,Maddy.What happened?"Michael clinched her hands
tighter showing support.
"My dad sort of grabbed me and starting yelling at me.I was
so scared and,"Maddy burst into tears so that Michael could
barely make out what she was saying,"He screamed at me
saying things like he was going to drag me home if he had
to.And she kept yelling for him to let go.After awhile my
dad didn't agree to it your mom made him stop."Maddy looked
up at him with her fearful and tear filled eyes,"She pulled
out her blade and he still would just...not let go of me!So
Babs had no choice but to..."
"What?Maddy?"Michael questioned and Maddy stood up taking a
few steps away.
"Michael,she stabbed him.She had to.He wouldn't let me
go!"Maddy explained.
"My mother...what?My mother...he's not dead,right?"
"He came close.If it was up to me...I would have left him
for dead but she couldn't do that to him.She said that no
matter how lousy he was we couldn't leave him there because
he was a human being."Maddy grinned with tears still
streaming down her cheeks,"She always had a thing about
respecting human beings."Maddy shook her head,"That's how I
know she didn't shoot him.Not to mention..."Maddy paused and
Michael got worried.
"Maddy...what is it?"
"Michael,the day your mom came to see us with you by her she
was...distant but then she explained about you and your
father.As much as she hated the idea of not being on her own
anymore when she thought of you guys as her family she
was...overjoyed.And she even called me and the girls.She
told us how she and Jason bonded on that trip and...I am
telling you right now that I know she couldn't shoot Jason
after the way she talked about him to me."Maddy hinted to
Michael never really saying what Carly had told her but
dropping so many clues.
Michael smiled,"I missed my mom.When she was gone even
though I don't remember too much about her from what my dad
told me about her and the way I sort of remembered her face
looking down at me when I was a baby.Then I saw her and ever
since she's been back she's caused nothing but
trouble."Michael and Maddy laughed before Michael
continued,"But you know what?My dad has always told me
that's one of the things he liked about her the most."
"So...do you think he knows how she feels?"Maddy asked.
"I don't think my mom even knows how she feels."Michael
joked and his smile faded as he looked back at his dad,"But
my dad knows how he feels."
Michael turned his body to face Jason.Maddy comforted him by
walking up behind him and wrapping her arms around his
neck.She rested her chin on his shoulder and laid his head
on hers.Maddy whispered only one thing,"He's going to make
it,Michael.I'm sure he will."Michael couldn't how connect
they were.He placed his hands on her which were wrapped
around him.They silently watched Jason hoping that he would
make it.Maddy hoped he would for Michael and Carly's
sake.But Michael just couldn't lose his father.Michael took
comfort in Maddy's being there but he looked at his dad and
realized that his dad had just always been there.Even though
he got mad at his dad sometimes he never once thought he'd
lose him.In a weird way Mihcael always felt like his mom was
up in heaven watching over them making sure they'd never
lose each other since they lost her but now that he didn't
have that it scared him.How could his mom watch over them if
she wasn't even dead.She's was in a jail cell still not
aware she was his mom.Michael tried to remember that Jason
had promised he'd never leave him but now that his dad was
laying there he couldn't keep any promises.
Carly sat in her bed with her back pressed against the
wall.The weather must have been bad because the wall was
freezing and it made her shiver a little.She was thinking
about Jason.She couldn't stand not knowing if he was
ok.Needless to say that the police weren't doing her any
favors and Bobbie hadn't came to see her again yet.Carly was
snapped out of her thoughts and she heard the door that lead
to the hall of cells open.She stood and went to ther bars of
her cell peering out trying to see who it was.She grew a
little nervous when she saw a man in a white coat walking up
the hall with a few police men with him and a couple big
guards.Carly stepped back from the bars and backing up
slowly.She could feel herself be overwhelmed with fear.She
was hoping the bars would some how protect her like a bubble
no one could pop.But when she saw one of the cops open the
cell door she knew her fear was well deserved.
"Hello,Carly,do you remember me?"The man asked with no
emotion showing on his face whatsoever.
Carly's eyes filled with tears from all the scared feelings
inside,"No."
"I was your doctor at Ferncliff."He informed her.
Carly shook her head,"Ferncliff?"
"Yes,when you were confused and shot someone.You thought
Michael was with you at Shadybrooke and I helped you just
liked plan to help you again."
Carly's bottom lip quievered,"I don't know you!"Carly
screamed and two of his guards started to approach her.Carly
kept walking backwards until she was backed against the
wall.Both of the men took one of Carly's arms.Carly squirmed
and screamed,"What are you doing?!Get your hands off
me!"Carly's eye's widened and she fought more as she saw the
doctor pull a needle he had kept hidden behind his
back,"Were just here to help you,Ms.Bensen."
"Like hell you are!"Carly again screamed and squirmed more
as the doctor approached.The doctor got a sudden surprise
when she jumped up with her arms still clasped and kicked
the needle out of his hands.She then used her foot to kick
the doctor back into the cell bars.Out of impulse one of the
men let go of her arm.She punched the other guy and kicked
the guard who let go right where it counts.The two men fell
to the ground and the police men began to come toward her
and she continued to fight as they tried to get her and
inject her with the needle.Her screams filled the halls and
she kept making sure they wouldn't get her with it.Mac and
Tagert ran into the hall and saw the commotion and Mac
yelled,"What's going on here?!"
Carly turned to Mac and Tagert inhaling deeply keeping an
eye on the other guys to make sure they didn't make any
sudden moves,"Their trying to drug me!"Carly shouted
inresponse to Mac's question.
"What?!"Tagert chimed in before the doctor along with the
others.
The doctor straightened to his coat,"We are here to help
her."
"By druging me?!"Carly yelled.
"By sedating you and bringing you back to Ferncliff!"The
doctor snapped.
"What the hell is Ferncliff!?"Carly felt her baby reacting
again and tried to calm down.
"It's a hospital!It will help you!And your confusion!"The
doctor explained.
Carly's eyes widened and she turned to Mac,"Your sending me
to the nuthouse!I'm not crazy!I didn't anything wrong!"
"I hardly call shooting another man nothing wrong."The
doctor smugly smiled.
Carly balled her fists,"You have no idea what your talking
about!You weren't there!"
"Do what you have to."Mac said hating the fact that Carly
was implying Robin lied.
The two men came towards her again and she ran past them
jumping onto her bed,"Stay away from me!!!"Carly restated
and the men along with the police men pulled her down.She
kicked and punched as much as she could but they eventually
pinned her down by taking her hands and feet.Carly's tears
fell as she cried,"No!"Carly had to think of something
soon.The doctor came towards her again and saw one of the
men had their hand close to her head.She did the first thing
she could think of and bit him.The man's pain filled the air
and Carly punched the man on right.They both let go of her
and she used her hands to bang the two police men holding
her feet head's together.She jumped off the bed and ran to
the corner,"I said STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!"
"Ms.Bensen!"The doctor grabbed her wrist and held th needle
up.
Carly finally had it,"You can't stick me with that!"The men
grabbed her for the last time.She couldn't fight anymore.Her
pain in her stomach got worse and she felt weak.
The doctor stuck the needle in her arm and began to inject
her,"And why is that Ms.Bensen?"The doctor leaned down and
asked.
"Because...,"Carly felt even weaker but managed to
whisper,"I'm pregnant."Carly felt like her eyelids weighed a
ton and she finally had to close them.
The doctor's eyes widened,"Oh my god!We have to get this
woman to a hospital!"
"That's why your taking her to Ferncliff."Mac reminded.
The doctor shot him an angry look,"Not that hospital!She
needs to have this drug removed from her system!"On of the
men scooped up Carly's limp body into his arms and nodded
before rushing out.The doctor's helpers had heard what Carly
said.
The doctor ran out of the cell and stopped to yell at
Mac,"Why didn't you tell me that woman was pregnant!She
could lose her child do to your mistake!"
Mac ran after the doctor and told him over and over again,"I
didn't know she was pregnant!"The doctors rushed Carly to
the hospital hoping to save her baby.
Michael walked into the big place with his mouth wide
open,"God this place is big."He thought and observed around
him.Today he had put in temporary custody of Emily and
Nikolas.He was so happy they did soon or else the
Quartermaine's might have got him.He was in Wyndemere right
now surveying what was around him,"Thanks,for letting me
stay here."Michael repeated for the hundreth time.
Emily giggled,"Michael,you can stop thanking me and
Nikolas!We're more than happy to have you stay here."
Nikolas grinned,"She's right Michael it's really no
problem."
Emily nodded,"See,Michael,you'll be fine and Jason's going
to be well soon then you leave Nikolas and I heartbroken
because we couldn't keep you longer."
Michael laughed,"I still appreciate this.This is just a
temporary set back."
"Oh my god."Emily whispered and her smile faded.
"What?"Michael questioned.
"Your starting to sound like your father."Emily joked
meaning every word but wanted Michael to smile.
Michael did and hugged her,"Thanks,Em."
Emily smiled,"Don't mention it."She held him closely and
felt a little better knowing that the Quartermaine's
couldn't get him.The phone rang and Nikolas picked up as
Michael and Emily shared a moment,"Hello?"They pulled back
and curiously listened in on Nikolas' end of the
conversation,"What?!Oh my god."Nikolas slightly
gasped,"We'll be right there."Nikolas hung up the phone and
put his coat back on.
Emily hated when Nikolas got that worried look.It scared her
more than anything,"What is it?What's wrong?"
"That was Mac.Carly's been brought into General
Hospital."Nikolas answered looking at Michael.
"No!!!"Michael screamed and let his bag drop,"What did they
do to my mother!?"
Emily knelt down in front of Michael,"You listen to
me.Carly's fine.Jason is fine.We're going to find out what's
going on and everything's going to be ok.I promise.Do you
believe me?"
"Of course.Can we get there please?"Michael said and they
rushed out knowing they had to get there soon.
Bobbie looked at the clock again and sighed.She wanted to
get off soon and was tempted to asked for the day off so she
could go to Carly.Her poor daughter.She was so scared.And so
confused.The poor thing.She was pregnant,locked up,and had
no memory of what had happened before fourteen years
ago.Bobbie's thoughts were interuptted when two men along
with a doctor burst in,"We need help!"Bobbie was terrified
to see Carly's inresponsive body in one of the mens
arms.Bobbie ran to them,"Oh my god,Carly!"
The doctor immediately recognized her,"Ms.Spencer,I didn't
know."
Bobbie was even more scared when he said that,"What did you
do to my daughter?"
The doctor quickly explained and Bobbie slapped him,"I hope
your happy!You might kill her baby!"She was going to
strangle him but stopped when the nurses rushed Carly into
an Emergency Room.
A few hours later...
Michael,Emily,and Nikolas entered General Hospital with fear
in their hearts and eyes.
Bobbie saw Michael and his tears.She ran to
him,"Oh,sweetheart."
"Grandma,what happened?What's going on?"Michael questioned
shaky.
Bobbie took his hand,"Emily could you and Nikolas inform
everyone we need to have a family meeting.I need you to call
Luke,Laura,Liz,Lucky,Monica,Lila,and anyone else you can
think of for us to include.Carly's going to need us to deal
with this.And Michael we need to talk."Emily and Nikolas
followed instructions while Michael and Bobbie found and
empty room.Bobbie sat Michael down with her,"Michael,Carly
hasn't told anybody this and she probaly wouldn't have told
me about it if I hadn't figured it out.The doctors brought
her hear because their the only other people she told."
"Told?What are you talking about?"Michael asked.
"Michael,your mom is pregnant."Bobbie told him and Michael
stood up quickly.
"That's impossible!"Michael shouted,"My mom got an
abortion.She was pregnant once but not anymore!She told me
so!"
Bobbie got up and placed her hands on his shoulders,"She
lied."
"But..."Michael sat back down,"I thought...I was my mom's
only kid.It's the only reason she's stayed with us this
long.And she doesn't love anybody except my dad,Grandma!I
know it!"Michael stated and Bobbie agreed with everything.
"Sometimes,people make mistakes and your mother made a
mistake."
"But a child is not a mistake.I wasn't!Why should her baby
be?"
"Michael,you mom loves you.Whether she remembers you or not
she has always loved and will alway love you!"Bobbie
defended Carly meaning it from the heart,"She just doesn't
remember and it still doesn't matter because even though she
may not remember you she still loves you.Your her
son,Michael.I think out of everyone she's still connected to
you.She has been ever since you found her again.She will
love her new baby but your always be her baby boy."Bobbie
had a smile spread across her face.
"I know.It just seems like I'm losing everybody!First my mom
then my dad and then my mom again!Not to mention she's got
my brother or sister to worry about to."
"Michael,I know you must be in a lot of pain right now but
your parents are both sick and they need you to be strong in
order for them to get well."
Michael nodded,"Then I will be."
"That's my boy."Bobbie laughed and hugged him.Michael took
her words to heart and knew he'd have to be strong for his
mom and dad so they could come back sooner.
That Night...
Bobbie,Michael,Emily,Nikolas,Luke,Laura,Liz,Lucky,Monica,Lila,and
Jerry all met at Wyndemere for a family meeting.Nikolas had
set everything up and knew that they'd all be alone to
confront each other there.When they had all arrived Bobbie
stood and began,"I know your probaly all wondering why the
heck your here.And I can explain that very easy by
saying.It's Carly."
"What's wrong with Caroline?"Luke asked.
"Besides the fact their accusing her of attempted
murder,she's lost her memory,and she's locked up I don't
know dad."Lucky snapped suddenly and everyone inhaled deeply
expecting a big arguement except Bobbie.She wasn't going to
let their petty differences stop her from what she had to
do.
"She's now in the hospital."Bobbie added and Lucky along
with Luke stopped.
"Oh god,is she ok?"Liz questioned as Lucky wrapped his arm
around his wife.
"Well,she was going to be ok until they injected her with a
sedative and attempted to take her back to Ferncliff."Bobbie
explained.
"Why didn't she make it to Ferncliff?"Emily too worried
about Carly and Nikolas was her support.He held her hand
tightly hoping to support her.
"She's pregnant.That's what's wrong.My mom lied to me and
told me she had an abortion but apparently she didn't it
would explain why she almost killed that guy that day.So I
am not my mom's only kid I am just an imaginary one until
she has the real thing."Michael told everyone and pushed
through them running upstairs.They all felt bad for their
little guy but there was nothing they could do.
"What day?"Monica whispered but no one heard although they
all had the same thought.
"And that's why I called you all here.Jason and Carly are
both in the hospital with no definite outcome.I need you all
to work with me in order to keep that poor boy sane and safe
from Edward and the rest of them.I also need to know that
all of you know about Carly's baby and don't act
irrational."Bobbie informed all of them sadly.
"You can count on us,Bobbie.We won't let anything happen to
Michael.And we'll all be here for Jason and...Carly."Emily
spoke for all of them and none of them spoke but it seemed
to be a mutual agreement between all of them.
Michael looked out the window as the rained poured down and blurred
the vision of the outside world.He
could feel his tears streaming down his face.He wanted so bad to for
Carly to come home be Caroline
Bensen Spencer and never speak of the horrid past again but if she
planned to have her baby then she
definitely would be reminded constantly.Michael choked down the tears
and remembered something his
father had told him...
Michael came running downstairs with a picture of Carly in his hand.He
was eleven by this time
and noticed how hurt his father was so ever now and then he'd give
him a reason to talk about
Carly.Jason stared aimlessly out the window when Michael approached
him and tapped him
lightly on the shoulder.Jason smiled as he felt the touch and turned
to him,"What can I do for
you,Michael?"Jason asked in a perky voice.
Michael pulled the picture from behind his back and handed it to Jason,"Tell
me about mom."
Jason nodded sadly and took his hand.They walked over to the catch
and sat down.Jason ran
his fingers along Carly's picture and leaned back,"What do you want
to know?"
Michael shrugged,"Anything."Michael bit his lower lip and rested his
head on the back of the
couch.
Jason sighed and looked down at the picture,"She was an amazing woman.She
filled both of
lives and hearts as long as she was alive.She loved you very much and
would have done
anything for you."
Michael grinned,"And you?"
Jason inhaled deeply,"And me.She probaly would have done anything for
too.She...we were and
always be her family.She left us too soon.I wish...she could have been
here longer."
"I wish so,too,daddy."Michael confessed and felt his tears swelling
in his eyes,"I don't
understand why she died.I mean...why does god do things like that?"
Jason tried to be strong for Michael but inside he was falling apart,"I've
asked myself that many
times,Michael,and there's no answer to that question.We just take what
he gives us and hope for
the best."
Michael couldn't stand all the pain going on inside it was killing
him.It consumed everything sane and made
him hate the world.He found a way out of Wyndemere and screamed up
at the sky,"Why?!What did I
do?!You took my mother!And then you give her back just so you can take
away my father!Now you want
both of them!Well,your not going to get them!They love me and they
won't leave me!"Michael was so upset
that he couldn't tell if his face was damp from the ran or his own
tears.More importantly he didn't
care,"You're not going to take them away from me!Do you understand?!"Michael
hoped that God could
hear everything he was saying.After he had finished his rampage he
collapsed to the ground pounded it as
hard as he could.Then he felt somebody next him and automatically knew
who it was,"Maddy."He softly
spoke and grabbed onto her.
Maddy stroked his hair and placed a gentle kiss on his head,"It's ok,Michael."
"No,it's not."Michael argued as he pulled away,"I don't understand
why,"Michael stood up again screaming
at the pitch black sky,"Why did you bring them both back to me just
to take them away from me?!"
Maddy hopped up to her feet and took his hand into hers,"Michael."He
held her hand tightly but didn't turn
to her,"Michael,look at me."Maddy turned him to her and sighed,"Listen,I
don't--I can't say I believe in God
because,"Maddy laughed slightly,"He's never really done anything for
me but...I do know your mother.She
would never ever leave you.Not after she's went through so much to
find you."
Michael tried to smile but couldn't will himself to do it,"And my dad?"
Maddy nodded,"Your dad wouldn't leave you after all this and if there
is a god...he won't let that happen to
them."
Michael smiled and pulled her to him.They hugged each other tightly
and felt a world different then
before.Somehow these complete opposites were alike in so many ways.Michael
couldn't believe that after
everything he had found somebody as special as Maddy.Maddy was completely
confused on why she was
drawn to Michael.She just had to be near him when she wasn't all she
did was think about him and now the
situation with Carly had somehow brought them together.They pulled
back from each other and looked into
each other's eyes a little dazed but both let out a nervous laugh then
looked away nervously.Michael decided
to change the subject,"So...did you know my mother was pregnant?"
Maddy's eyes widened and she shook her head,"Wha--she's pregnant?!"Maddy's
hands balled into
fists,"That bastard!That son of--Damn you,Trent!"Maddy yelled and kicked
a near by tree,"I'm going to kill
him!"Maddy laughed angrily,"No,Red.Red's going to kill him!She's going
to kill him!"
"Trent?!Maddy,who the hell is Trent?!"Michael shouted.
Maddy paced the grass and ran her hands through her hair,"Of course.It
all makes sense.Her anger towards
him,the distance,and the wanting to kill him everytime she saw him!Oh
my god."Maddy closed her eyes and
Michael saw tears fall,"He did it to her.He did it to her like all
those other girls.Oh my go--,poor Babs.She
must be so hurt.She must be so scared."Maddy hugged Michael and he
accepted her not knowing what the
heck she was talking about.
"Who's Trent?"Michael asked again.
"You really want to know?"Maddy questioned looking into his tearful
and angry eyes.
"Yes,I do.Please tell me."Michael answered sternly.
"Ok.Ok.I'll tell you but not here.You're freezing and you're going
to have to sit down when I tell you
this.Would your they--"
Michael cut her off,"No,Emily and Nikolas are cool.They won't mind.Come
on."Michael held her hand and
walked up one of the many paths to Wyndemere.
Maddy sat Michael down and Michael's fear built more and more with every
passing second.They were in a
room upstairs and off to the side.There was a burning fire and Emily
knew they were there.Michael couldn't
even think of anything except somehow there was more to Carly's fourteen
year past than she was letting
on.Michael folded his hands and leaned foward to Maddy who was next
to him waiting for the right moment
to begin.Maddy licked her lips and looked away,"Michael,I am really
debating on wheter or not I should tell
you about Trent."
"I want to know who this guy is and what he did to my mother."Michael
demanded.
Maddy shook her head and he felt like now she was somehow trying to
make him angry,"Maddy!I want to
know now!My mother and father are lying in hospital beds in General
Hospital and my mom's pregnant!I
think I deserve at least one answer to one of my many questions!"
Maddy exhaled and took his hands,"I am so sorry I have to tell you
this."
"Tell me what?"Michael asked impatiently.
"Ok.Right.You deserve to hear this."Maddy said as though she were convincing
herself,"Trent is
a...heartless,using,uncaring,manipulative,abusive,and evil man.He doesn't
care about anybody but his damn
self and he finds women intending for them to be victims.Furture victims."Maddy
could see Michael was
confused but stopped.
Michael felt tears in his eyes and let go of her hands in order to
stand and pace the room,"Abusive?Did I
hear you say abusive?"Maddy only nodded in response,"Did he hurt my
mother,Maddy?Did that son of--did
he hurt my mother?"
"He must have."Maddy answered sadly.
"What do you mean,'Must have'?"Michael questioned and sat next to her
again.
"He chased Babs for months.Your mother I mean."Maddy annoyingly spat.
"What do you mean,Maddy?What are you talking about?"
"Ok,let me just start from the begining."Maddy told him and began,"When
we first met your mom she was
angry,she was mean,and she didn't want anything to do with anybody
but she was searching.She was trying
to find out who she was.She even told me and Red once that she didn't
need anykind of relastionships
because they would just take her mind off of finding the truth to her
past.I admired her from the very begining
because even though she was so alone she had so much pride and she
was just so strong,you know?"Maddy
explained and felt the waterdrops departing her eyes,"She even held
her head high you know.She had no
money,no friends,no family,and no home.Red feeds off of those things
in a person because she's the oldest
out of all of us and she likes to meet people with those traits and
make them friends.But she's nothing like
Trent.Trent uses these things against a person.He's a criminal in a
lot of different ways not only with the law
but other ways.Anyways,Trent loves a challenge and that's what Babs
was.I mean--Carly,your mother,she
was a challenge to all of us.Of course we all loved her from the very
begining.She seemed to be all these
things but the one thing she hated to stick out but it was so obvious
to all of us was that she--she just needed
to be loved.Months and months of trying to just be a friend to her
but still she just wanted our help to find
out who she was never friendship or love of any kind.So,we all tried
and tried and finally after like a year had
passed she begin to open up to us and tell us things.She had these
hillarious experiences she had experienced
on the road and we felt bad for her when we realized just how long
she had been alone.You see when she
ran from Paige and Kevin it was on her own completely occasionally
filling them in on how she was so they'd
try to lead a normal life and not worry.Anyways,Trent seemed to follow
her and as much as she hated it or
just didn't want to she began to fall for his act but never ever stayed
anywhere alone with him just because of
his past.But--"Maddy raised her hands to her mouth and burst into tears,"Oh
my god!"
Michael pulled her hands away from her mouth,"No!Maddy,you can't stop
now!"
Maddy looked up at him with remorseful eyes,"I know when it happened!"
