"And so we meet"
Lucky walked into Jake's and plopped
down on a bar stool. He checked the
pocket in his jacket again and
sighed with relief when he felt the
envelope crinkle in his hand. He
looked around the bar. A drunk was
propped up on the stool next to
him, his head down and a beer in his
hand. A young woman was playing
pool with some big guys. She smiled and
laughed a little. She was looking
to get laid. Lucky laughed a little
and continued his scan of the room.
An older woman was at the juke box
looking at the selections. She
pressed a number and music filled the
room. She smiled and walked towards
him. She looked at the stool next to
the drunk, then the stool next
to Lucky and took a seat. She glanced at
Lucky and he met her gaze. ''Bartender...I'd
like a beer, please.'' She
said. Her voice was sweet. The
bartender nodded and looked at Lucky. He
raised his hands. ''No nothin....''
''He'd like a beer too.'' The woman
said, cutting off Lucky. She smiled
at him and to his suprise he smiled
back. She stretched out her hand
and Lucky shook it. Her skin was soft
and her hand was delicate. ''I'm
Veronica, what's your name?''
''Lucky.'' She laughed. ''Lucky.
I like that name. Arn't you a little
young to be in a bar, Lucky?''
Lucky blushed and she laughed again.
''Yeah...well I have business...''
He explained. She nodded and looked
the boy over. He couldn't be more
than 17. Yet he was exceptionally
handsome. His eyes were as blue
as the ocean, and they seemed to change
with his emotions. He lifted up
his beer and took a sip, and she noticed
his lips. Her gaze moved down towards
his body. A little on the skinny
side, she thought, but not bad.
Not bad at all. She shifted on her stool
and looked back at Lucky. She shook
her head. She shouldn't be thinking
of this. The boy was young enough
to be her son...maybe her grandson.
She laughed and Lucky looked up.
Lucky looked up at Veronica and smiled
slightly when she laughed. She
had a nice laugh. Her eyes sparkled and
the skin wrinkled at the sides.
She tossed her dark hair over her
shoulder. She was a nice looking
woman. Nice body. But she was old.
Plus, he loved Liz. His thoughts
drifted to Liz sitting at home waiting
for him. He shook his head and
looked around the bar again for his
contact. He spotted Joe holding
a cuestick and leaning over some girl.
''Excuse me for a moment, Veronica.''
He got up and walked over to Joe
and they began a conversation.
Veronica watched him. She reached into
her purse and pulled out a tiny
vile. She quickly opened it and poored
it into Lucky's beer. She saw him
turn around to come back and she
shoved the empty vile back into
her purse. 'Now's the time to put on the
charm, Ronnie.' She thought to
herself. Lucky sat back down and reached
for his wallet. She tenderly touched
his arm and he looked up at her.
''What's the hurry?'' She mused
and leaned in towards him. ''Am I that
repulsive?'' Lucky laughed and
shook his head. ''Not at all, it's just
that....'' ''Hey. How about we
finish this drink, then you can leave
without hurting my feelings.''
Lucky hesitated, but sat back down and
picked up his beer. He could feel
her eyes watching him and he put the
beer to his lips and took a sip.
Then he took a gulp. He closed his eyes
as dizzieness passed over him.
He opened them again and saw Veronica
staring at him with concern. ''Lucky?
Lucky are you ok?'' He blinked a
few times and focused on Veronica's
face. ''I'm fine. Really I am.'' She
smiled and sat back on the stool.
''Well then, our beer awaits.'' She
lifted her beer bottle and he lifted
his. They clinked and took another
sip.
"Playground"
''Want to play some pool, Lucky?''
Veronica lowered the glass to the counter.
Lucky shook his head, which made
the dizziness worse, ''No, thanks, I really
just have to make a delivery then
get home to my girlfriend.'' Veronica pursed
her lips into a pout, and took
his hand in hers, ''Aw Come one Lucky, Just one
little game. Do your business and
then we'll play one round of pool, and then
I'll let you go, I promise.'' She
smiled. Lucky sighed and looked at his
watch. 10:30. He should have met
Elizabeth 3 hours ago. He looked back at
Veronica who was doing her best
puppy dog impression, and figured the only way
out of here was to play some pool.
''Ok, lets play some pool.'' Veronica
smiled. ''Ok, here's a quarter.
Go get the table ready and I'll meet you there
in a second.'' Lucky took the quarter
from her hand and walked over to an
empty table. Veronica sighed and
dug in her purse again. She pulled out a
small vial, and held it consealed
in her hand. ''Bartender? Could you refresh
our drinks?'' He took both drinks
from the bar and filled them up to the top.
When Veronica was sure no one was
looking she opened the vial and poured the
contents in Lucky's drink, stiring
it with her finger. She picked up both
drinks and walked over to the pool
table Lucky was setting up for them, ''Here
ya go.'' He took the drink from
her hand and set it down on the table,
''Thanks.'' he muttered. Veronica
cooly picked up the drink, ''Oh no, no
Lucky, you have to drink before
the game, for good luck'' She held the drink
infront of him. ''Wow, she's pushy,''
Lucky thought to himself, ''Okay,'' he
said, taking a big gulp of the
beer. Lucky winced as the liquid made its way
down his throat. He coughed and
squeezed his eyes shut, hoping to stop the
tears that were coming to his eyes.
He leaned over the pool table and tried to
regain his composure, but it wasn't
coming fast enough. ''Lucky?'' Veronica
asked. This was working already.
''Lucky, I think you better lay down,'' she
took him around his waist. They
walked over to the stairs, ''Come on, I'll
take care of you,'' she helped
him up the stairs and into a room. The room was
dark and only held a bed and a
dresser, Lucky immedialty collapsed onto the
bed, his mind was asleep but his
eyes were still open, ''What are you doing?''
he asked when he looked up at Veronica.
She was undoing the buttons on her
shirt, ''I'm going to make you
feel a whole lot better, Lucky. So sit back and
enjoy the ride.'' Lucky was alarmed
and tried to get up. His body protested
and a wave of nausea passed over
him. He closed his eyes. ''What did you do to
me?'' No answer. ''What di you
do to ME??'' He yelled. Veronica climbed up on
the bed and began taking his shirt
off. ''Nothing...just gave your something
to....relax.'' She laughed and
pulled his shirt off over his head. ''No. No
don't do this.'' He asked. ''Please...no.''
Lucky's protested were silenced by
her hand being placed over his
mouth, ''Please Lucky don't make this
unpleasent for me.'' she unbuckled
his belt, and slowly kissed his chest.
Lucky's mind blanked out her climbing
on top of him, he kisses and touches,
everything was blocked and replaced
with the memory of his true love,
Elizabeth. ''Elizabeth'' he whispered.
He tried hard to hold her face in his
mind, but everything kept slipping
away. When he looked at the women on top of
him, he felt sick, ''No, Veronica,
This is wrong! No!'' he tried to yell but
it took all his strengh just to
talk. Tears welled up in his eyes as she
started touching him and fondling
him. All he could think about was Elizabeth
and how much he loved her. He squeezed
his eyes shut at the sight of Veronica
kissing his body. Finally she took
him, raiding his body with her touch. He
watched in horror as this women
manipulated his body, and he wasn't able to
lift a finger to stop it, all he
could do was lay there and watch. Sweet
oblivian wouldn't even come to
take him. Soon a silence passed over the room
and she dropped off of him, but
still pounding her kisses on his mouth. Then
she stopped. Everything stopped.
Time stopped. All he could see was blackness.
He could still smell her perfume.
Veronica watched as Lucky slowly slipped
away from conciousness and leaned
over him. She'd given him to much Midazolam.
(Yes, this is a real drug used
by Date Rape offenders. I used this drug for
the story instead of Rohypnol for
plot reasons.) She left the room quickly and
ran outside. She spotted a payphone
and cautiously walked towards it. ''911,
how can I help you?'' Veronica
quickly told where Jake's bar was and the room
Lucky was in and hung up. She took
a hankerchief out of her purse and wiped
the phone. She turned and quickly
ran away.
