The next morning Lucky woke up expecting
to see the familiar setting of the
boxcar. However, he soon
realized that he was at Wyndemere. He didn't want
to stay here longer than necessary.
He sat up wincing at the sharp pain in
his side. He was extremely
glad that today was Sunday and he didn't have to
work for Jason. He gets out
of bed shakily, and put his shoes back on. He
was walking painfully out of his
room when he saw Nikolas walk towards him.
"What are you doing out of bed?"
"When did you get all brotherly?
You don't want anything to do with me. You
just fell guilty about what happened
yesterday. So that's make this painless
for both of us, and let me leave."
"Look Lucky whatever you might
think my motives are I don't want you getting
hurt any worse than you are.
Besides I owe you."
"No you don't. Despite how
I have acted in the past I still owe you for
saving Lulu."
"Lucky, she's my sister also, you
don't owe me anything."
"Whatever. I've got to go."
"Go where?"
"Away from here."
"You can't"
"Why not? Are you planning on kidnapping
me?"
"No, Liz is going to be here in
about five minutes."
"Fine, I'll wait until Liz gets
here then I will leave."
"Let's just go downstairs and have
breakfast while we wait for Liz."
"Fine."
Nikolas and Lucky walk downstairs.
Every step is painful for Lucky, however
he does not want Nikolas to know
so he doesn't say anything. He grits his
teeth and walks downstairs.
Nikolas and Lucky see Stefan sitting
at the dining room table. "Good
Morning, Uncle."
"Good night Nikolas. How
are you?"
"I'm fine."
"Good. Hello Lucky."
"Mr. Cassadine." Lucky nods
at Stefan.
"Please join me. Mrs. Lansbury
prepared breakfast."
Lucky and Nikolas sat down.
Lucky hoped that Liz would show up soon.
Despite the fact that Luke would
hate the fact that Lucky was eating with
Stefan and Nikolas, Lucky did not
feel comfortable sitting at the table with
Stefan. Especially after
the whole Timoria game incident that landed Lucky in
the bog. Lucky, Nikolas,
and Stefan were acutely aware of the silence until
Stefan finally broke it.
"Lucky, Nikolas tells me that you
helped him out last night."
"Yes, sir." Lucky answered not
quite sure at the response Stefan was looking
for.
"You are welcome to stay here as
long as you would like."
Both Lucky and Nikolas looked at
him in shock. They knew that Stefan had no
love for anything Spencer.
"Thank you Mr. Cassadine, but that
won't-"
"Yes, Uncle thank you." Nikolas
interrupts him.
"Very well then, I trust I will
see you both for dinner."
Stefan gets up from the table without
waiting for a reply Lucky glares at
Nikolas.
"Why did you go and do that?" Lucky
asks impatiently.
"Do what?"
"You know what. Allowing
him to think that I want to stay here."
"Come on Lucky stay tonight.
You're hurt, and shouldn't stay at the boxcar by
yourself." Nikolas couldn't
believe what he was going to say next. "Besides
it will give us a chance to get
to know each other. Other than just as
Spencer and Cassadine." Lucky
looked at Nikolas in shock. He considered what
Nikolas said, and the fact that
his side was killing him. "Ok. I'll stay
tonight."
Nikolas and Lucky were still sitting
at the table when Elizabeth arrived.
"Hello Elizabeth, how are you?"
Nikolas saw her first.
"I'm fine and you."
"I'm good."
"Hi Lucky. Can't you go a
month with out getting stabbed?" Liz said with a
smile on her face.
"Well I try, but lately I'm beginning
to feel like a pincushion."
"You never did tell me how you
were stabbed the last time." Nikolas asked
still curious.
"I stabbed him." Liz said a little
embarrassed.
"It was an accident. I startled
her, and she had the knife out. She turned
around and got me."
"Now that my curiosity is settled."
Sort of Nikolas thought. "Why don't you
join us for breakfast."
"Ok. I think I will."
Lucky, Liz, and Nikolas sat around
talked, played cards (which Lucky won most
of the games), and Elizabeth joined
them for lunch and dinner. They had nice
time together, despite Lucky's
initial reservations everyone was getting
along. Elizabeth's presence
helped ease the tension at dinner when Stefan
joined them. At 8:00 Liz
decided to go home. Leaving Lucky and Nikolas
alone.
Later that night Nikolas and Lucky
were talking in the guestroom about their
paths. They both learned
a lot about their pasts. They began to understand
why neither one of them trusted
easily. Nikolas looked at his brother with
concern. He could tell, despite
the fact that Lucky was trying to hide it,
that Lucky's side was hurting him.
"Lucky are you ok?"
"Yeah, I am just tired. I
think I will go to sleep. Good night."
"Goodnight."
The next morning Lucky woke
up early. He had to go to work for Jason today.
He took off two weeks ago, because
he was stabbed, and he didn't want to ask
for more time off. He really
needed the money. Jason has been more generous
and he didn't want to take advantage
of his generosity. Lucky had just
finished getting ready when he
heard a knock at the door.
"Come in." Nikolas walked in and
noticed that Lucky was already ready to go.
"What are you doing up already?"
"I have to work."
"Lucky the doctor told you to rest
not work."
"Nikolas, I'm fine." 'Nikolas
can be a real mother hen' Lucky thought to
himself. At Nikolas's disbelieving
look Lucky sighed. "Jason is expecting
me."
"You work for Jason Morgan?"
"Relax Nikolas, I just wash and
detail his cars." Lucky looked at his watch.
"I have to go."
"Lucky at least let me help you."
"Fine let's go." Lucky said
rolling his eyes.
Lucky and Nikolas stepped
off the launch and were walking towards Morgan's
penthouse when they were taken
by surprise. They try to fight their
kidnappers but to no avail as their
mouths were covered by rags. Lucky and
Nikolas struggle as their world
fades to black.
