Later that day, Robin was still motionless later on in
the day, and her vitals
were plumeting. The pressure had built up too much inside
of her skull.
"We're going to have to get her into the OR again." Chris explained to Mac.
"You just did that!" He said, worriedly. "Why do you have to do it again?"
"Because she'll die if we don't relieve the pressure inside
of her skull." He
told Mac with slight exasperation. "We have to do it
quickly before her brain
ruptures." He held out the form for Mac to sign and Mac
reluctantly did so.

That evening, Ned opened the door to see Alexis standing
there in a dark blue
dress, her hair cascading over her shoulders.
"Hi." She said with a slight smile.
He looked her over appriciatively. "Hi." He said, his gaze never leaving her.
"What?" She noticed his direct gaze. She looked down at
herself as if to see
if there was a rip in her dress or something of that
sort.
He smiled slightly. "You just look... so beautiful." He
said simply and she
blushed and looked pensive. "Come in." He said softly,
allowing her in.
After she'd entered, Alexis noted that the table wasn't
set; in fact, it was
half-cluttered with papers. "I thought we were eating
dinner." She commented.
"We are, but I thought a picnic might be nice." He said,
following her gaze to
the table. "There's a spot over by the pond that is especially
nice."
"Oh." She nodded. "It is... a beautiful night."
He smiled agreeably. "There's a full moon and not a cloud
in the sky to block
the stars."
~~
Bobbie smiled as Jerry approached.
"Ready?" He queried.
"Hold on..." she finished up making notes on a file. "Yeah. All done."
"Well, then..." He held out his arm and he smiled winningly,
and she rolled
her eyes upward ever so slightly, but took it. "Come
on."
~~
"Mr. Scorpio." Ellen Burgess said after exiting the ER.
Mac and Felicia stood up. "How's my neice?" Mac asked quickly.
"I'm truly sorry..." Ellen started. "The team couldn't
save her. The swelling
was too severe to ignore and the internal damage became
unstable. She died on
the table."
"No." Mac whispered. "No..."
Behind them, rounding the corridor was Jason, who'd heard.
His face went blank
and an expression of horror, rage and melancholy took
over.
~~
"Here we are." Ned said as he motioned to where a picnic
blanket was all set
up. He'd been carrying a basket and set it down on it.
There was a bouquet of
a dozen white and red roses (six white roses; six red
roses) on the blanket,
which he picked up and handed to her. "For you."
"Well, thank you." She smiled and took them. "They're
beautiful." She set them
by her side as she sat down, curling her legs to her
left. He was sitting
beside her now, Indian-style. He was dressed casually;
he had no suit jacket
or tie on, just a plain white Oxford button-up shirt
and a pair of plain kacki
pants. "This is a nice spot." She looked out over the
water.
"The moon reflects off of the water and the way it shimmers..."
Ned shook his
head. "It's just...beautiful." He shrugged.
"It is." She agreed, looking down.
There was a slight pause, a moment of silence and then
he spoke up: "What are
you afraid of?" He asked her softly.
"W--what?" She was startled. "What do you mean?"
"Why are you so nervous?" He asked her gently. He reached
over and played with
a strand of her hair. "What did I do wrong?" His eyes
pleaded with her to let
him in.
"What?" She asked confused and then looked up at him.
A look of pain flashed
across her face as she read his eyes; he looked so sad,
so worried. "Oh, Ned!"
She said softly, sadly; she bit her lip as she brought
a hand to his face.
"Nothing." She whispered. "You didn't do anything wrong."
~~
"Here we are." Jerry said with a smile as they entered
the PC Grille, which
was completely empty except for them and two waiters.
"This place is awful empty for eight o'clock." Bobbie
noted. "You rented the
place out?" She asked Jerry.
"Of course." He said with a smile as he pushed in her chair.
"I should've figured; that seems to be your style. So,
tell me, Jerry?" She
leaned forward a question in her eyes.
"Tell you what?" He queried.
"Why?" She said simply.
"Why...?" He asked. "Why what?"
"Why do you do the things you do?" She asked, pushing
a piece of hair behind
her ear and looking at him steadily.
~~
Jason slammed his fist against the wall of the penthouse
after he walked in
the door. Just barely stifling the urge to wreck the
place entirely as he
looked around. He sighed again as he noticed a pair of
barrets laying on the
bedside table; they were Robin's of course. He sunk down
into the chair,
barely able to keep from sobbing thinking that she was
dead...
"Close the door
Shut the world away
All the fight's gone from this wounded heart
Across the floor, dreams and shadows play
Like wind blown refugees..."
[["On this hand." Robin answers, removing the ring Stone
had given her. "I'll
always keep it, but it's time to move on." She held out
her hand and Jason
slipped the ring on. She smiles; they kiss...]]
"Call the man
Who deals in love beyond repair
He can heal the world
Of hearts in need of care
Shine a light ahead
When the next step is unclear
Call the man
He's needed here..."
[[A quick visual clip of Robin holding Michael and sitting
beside Jason
(remember the official PJ episode?) on the bed.]]
"I close my eyes
I remember when
Your sweet love filled this empty room..."
[[Robin's smiling face.]]
"The tears I cry
Won't bring it back again..."
[[Robin walks, in slow motion in Jason's mind's eye, towards
the limosine. She
turns around and smiles at him with a little wave as
the alarm bells sound in
his head and all there is left is him with a limp, ragdoll
Robin in his arms
and a huge flash of light...]]
A single tear fell down Jason's cheek. He closed his eyes in pain.
