Succumbing to the Pressure - 3

Luke stormed to the dock landing. ''DAD! DAD WAIT!'' Lucky yelled after him. Nicholas ran up beside him.
''Cowboy, leave me.''
''Dad, don't. I know you're hurting. I, I just wanna help.'' Lucky felt tears fall down his face. He quickly wiped at them, not wanting to upset Luke further.
Luke's chest contracted and he felt as if it would explode. He sank into a crouching position and buried his head in his hands and betgan to shake with sobs. Lucky crouched beside him, laying a hand on his back. Luke powerfully gripped his son and held onto him for dear life as a Very uncomfortable Nicholas stood by.

Liz walked up to the Quartermaine mansion. ''Wow!'' She said as AJ led her up to Emily's room.
AJ smiled warmly at her. ''Em's been talking about you alot lately.'' He lowered his voice and octave. ''It's about time she had a DESCENT girl friend.'' She smiled at him. 'He is SO cute! But, not as cute as Lucky.'
Emily flung open the door. ''AJ, quit harassing my friend!'' She playfully shooed him away. AJ laughed and ruffled her hair. ''Sorry Liz.''
''No, it's okay. He's rally cute.'' Liz smiled secretively at Emily.
Emily laughed, embarrased. ''Yeah, well, that's my brother!''
------------------------------------------------------------------------
''Lasha, Lasha please. You can't do this to me. I'm sorry, I never meant to hurt Lucky or Luke, or for them to see us. LASHA!'' Stefan leaned his forhead on the door, silent tears falling down. Finally he pushed himself up. Just then the door swung open. He smiled breifly.
Laura stared at him incredulously. How dare he! How dare he still be here. He ripped apart her family. It was all his fault. And now none of her son's would speak to her, all thanks to him. And how did Nicholas know about Stefan being his father. ''Stefan'' She growled at him. ''Get the hell out.'' With that she angrily slammed the door on his face.
Stefan stared forlornly at the door. Then he slowly walked away. His heart breaking a little more each step.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Luke sat there, utterly defeated, in the arms of his son, who he thought he had lost for good. ''Thank god I have you cowboy.'' Luke sobbed into his shirt.
Lucky fought to control his voice. ''You do dad. You have me for life.''
Nicholas turned to quietly leave. Lucky silently asked where he was going. He shrugged. ''To think.''
''Come stay with me tonight if you need a place to stay.'' Lucky whispered.
Nicholas pointed at Luke. ''Won't he be...I mean, I'm the LAST person he wants to see.''
Luke raised his head, actually smiling. ''Boy, didn't I say we had a truce! Look, Prince, it's not your fault. You've had a horrible shock tonite too. I don't mind if Cowboy wants you to stay there. As long as I can, you can.'' Luke looked at Lucky uncertainly.
Lucky looked in shock at his father. ''It's understood. You're staying there, like it or not.''
''Thanks Spencer. Regardless, I still nedd to do some thinking, so, I'll come by later. I....I'll see you.'' Nicholas said, and turned and left.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emily and Liz's laughter died down as she picked up the phone. ''Em?'' Emily's smile faded.
''Nicholas?'' She asked, eying Liz.
''Em...'' Nicholas paused, leaning his head against the phone booth. ''Please say you'll meet me. I...I really need you.'' He said, controlling the urge to break down.
''Nicholas, are you alright? I sLucky okay?'' Liz's attention surfaced to the top. ''Waht, What?'' She whispered.
''Yes...no...ye...I don't know. Physically, yeah, we're fine.''
''Should I bring Liz?''
''No, Em, I only can deal with you. Lucky's fine, he's with his dad. Please say you'll meet me.''
''Ofcourse.'' Emily shook her head at Liz to tell her she wasn't needed.
''Dock. Peir 49. Hurry.'' He hurriedly hung up the phone and began to lose it. He sank to the ground, His hands wrapped around the back of his neck. Yet still, no tears.
''Liz...''
''Go!'' Lizzzie shooed her out. 'I wonder what's going on. Lucky will come to me if he wants to talk.' She told herself. But it didn't help her worriedness.(is that a word?)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
''Lucky. You're all I got now boy.'' Luke said, finally having controlled his crying. They now sat on a bench, looking at the bay desolatly.
''No dad, all we got is each other.'' He reached over and touched his father's neck, squeezing.
Luke smiled over at Lucky. ''When did you become a counselor.''
Lucky froze. ''Since Lizzie.''
Luke felt his heart thud. 'Oh no not now.' ''Lucky, I'm sorry, please don't...''
''Forget it dad. It's over. It's the past. The present's hard enough.'' Lusky said, smiling at him.
''Wow, kiddo. Your mother taught you well.'' Luke sighed, letting another tear slip out.
''Maybe, but you...you taught me about life. How to live. And how to have a damn good time doing it.''
Luke smiled tearfully at him. ''Cowboy....I love you.'' He reached over and hugged him. (does anyone know when Luke will be back for real?)
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Emily rushed over to Nicholas, who was sitting on a bench, hunched over. He loked up and she gasped. ''Nicholas, wht happened to your face?!'' She sat down and reached out to touch his face.
''Just some guys...doesn't matter.'' He reached out and hugged her feircely to him. She hugged him back, very worried. Finally he pulled back and looked at her.
''Nicholas? What's wrong? Tell me, you're worrying me.''
''Emily, Stefan is my dad.'' He mumbled.
''What?! Your dad? I must have heard wrong.''
''No, It's true. Lucky and I heard LAura and Stefan talking. I'm THEIR kid. As in thier kid together, both of them. And then they kissed, and that's when Luke walked up, and then....GOD!'' He buried his head in his hands, sobbing.
Emily felt tears come to her eyes. It hurt her to see Nicholas like this. She hugged him to her and let him cry on her shoulder. When his sobs quieted he raised up.
Embarrassed he laughed. ''Sorry.'' He mumbled.
She grabbed the sides of his face. ''No, Nicholas. Son't. You were totally there for me. And I'm really glad you trusted me enough to tell me and come to me.''
Seeing the compassion and love in Emily's tearful face he felt his heart swell. Suddenly he grabbed her face in his amd kissed her passionately. She was like an angel.

***
You spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that will make it okay.
There's always some reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction,
oh beautiful release.
Memory seeps from my veins,
let me be empty.
Well, weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight.

In the arms of the angel
far away from here,
from this dark, cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here.

So tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
are vultures and theives at your back
and the storm keeps on twisting
you keep on building the lies
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escape one last time
it's easier to beleive
in this sweet madness
all this glorious sadness
it brings me
to my knees

In the arms of the angel
fly away from here,
from this dark, cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here,
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here.
