Carly didn't know who to ask to go with her the following morning.Jason or Bobbie. She just invited them both. They looked at many beautiful places.Places she'd be proud to call home. But when they stopped at one paticular house Carly was mesmerized and had to move in their. It was a sort of secluded house. It was in the woods of Port Charles. It was a little far from the main streets but it was so great looking. It was sort of small but still big.It was two stories.Th bottom floor had more windows than walls so she'd definitely have to get a security system. But that was just one of the cons. She looked at all the better things. She wouldn't be bothered and it had beautiful scenery. There were lots of trees and mountains around. She loved to look out the windows. There was a nice patio that surrounded the house. The walls were very white and the floor was hardwood. It was so shiny she could see herself in it.There was a sprial staircase and she went upstairs.Down stairs there was the kitchen, front room, bathroom, and two big rooms for just about anything.Upstairs there was another bathroom and three more big rooms. She could do a lot with the place. She definitely wanted to add some color to the place. She knew it was the perfect one and told the agent this was the place. They told her all the paper work should be ready by the next day.Carly was glad this always going quickly. She couldn't wait to live there.
The following morning she packed back up the little bit of things she
had taken out clothes etc.She wasn't going to be able stay in her house
for a couple of nights. They had to install a security system and she had
to get her furniture. She already had her keys though so she could bring
her stuff over there.Bobbie and Carly only had to make one trip to Carly's
new house. She put the few boxes she had upstairs in a closet.Carly and
Bobbie made another trip to go and get paint for Carly's house.Carly hated
how unalive the place was. After they got the paint they came back and started
to liven the place up.Carly got two colors she got a sky blue for upstairs
and emerald green for downstairs.Bobbie told her that the colors would
clash and Carly told her thats why she was doing upstairs and downstairs
the other.Bobbie laughed and told her ok since she didn't live. They painted
upstairs within a couple hours. It was so easy since she hadn't had any
of her furniture in the place yet.As they were painted the last and biggest
room in the house Jason came in.Bobbie saw how Carly was so much more happy
when Jason got there,"Hey,it looks nice."
"You haven't seen upstairs."Bobbie held back a laugh but a little giggle
escaped.
Jason looked upstairs,"Oh so you did do that."He said to Carly.
Bobbie rose her brow,"You know she was going to do that?"
"Yeah,Carly told me about it last night on the phone."Jason responded.
"You didn't tell her it was a bad idea?"Bobbie was surprised that Carly
called Jason.
Carly was over by one of the walls finshing up and laughing at her
mom.
"Why it's not my place."Jason replied.
Carly went to stand next to Jason and did a nodded once,"See."Carly
crossed her arms.
Jason looked at Carly and grinned.
Bobbie raised her hands,"Then why not let him help you make the biggest
mistake of your life."Bobbie let the her paint brush fall to the covered
floor.
Jason didn't realize this was a small fight until Carly got that look. She
had a certain look she would get when she was angry. Her forehead would
crinkle a little, she'd bit her lower lip,and squint her eyes.Carly finally
said,"Fine.Jason will you help me?"
Jason was snapped out of his thoughts but didn't say anything.
Bobbie cut him off,"See he doesn't want to help you with this. And besides
he's wearing a suit."
Carly was still upset,"Jason,is that why you won't help?"
Jason looked at his clothes,"I guess."
"Would it make you feel better if the suit was worthless?"Carly wasn't
joking.
Bobbie's eyes got larger as Carly threw some paint at Jason's shirt.Jason
didn't care it was just one of the many one's he had and Carly knew it
but still he acted angry and started to chase her through out the house.Bobbie
shook her head,"Bye,Carly.Bye,Jason."
Jason had Carly al the way back into the room where they were painting.Carly
screamed while she was laughing,"Bye,Mom."
"Bye,Bobbie."Jason said before grabbing Carly from behind.Bobbie watched
a little more.Jason stuck the tips of his fingers in the paint and flicked
it at Carly.Carly put her hands in front of her face.He let go and they
just started to flick paint at each other.Bobbie smiled watching them but
then left.Carly finally grabbed Jason hands to stop him.Their faces were
red from laughing so hard,"Jason,ok you got me back.Stop wasting my paint."Carly
gave him an innocent smile. She looked like a little girl with all the paint
on her face and fingers it looked like she had been finger painting. Her
hair was in a pony tail but a stran had fallen in her face. She was wearing
a pair of old white overalls and a white shirt. It was all green now that
they were finished.Jason stared at her for a moment until Carly let go
of his hands,"Sorry."
"For what?"Jason asked still memerized by her innocent looking beauty.
"Getting you with the paint I just wanted to make sure you helped.Sorry."Carly
looked down at her overalls that had paint all over them she shrugged and
wiped her fingers on them. She picked up Bobbie's brush and continued to
paint.Jason was a little disappointed when she started to paint again.Jason
picked up the other brush and started to paint where she left off. After
awhile they finished and began to clean up.Jason and Carly started to pick
up the white sheets of paper Carly and Bobbie had put down to keep the
paint from damaging the floor. When they rolling up the last bit they were
looking at the ground. They walked faster rolling up the paper in their
hands. When they got to the middle they banged their heads against each
other. They both were so surprised that they fell down.Carly started to
giggled,"Ow."She whined and rubbed her head.
Jason smiled and stood. He stuck out his hands to help her up.Carly
grabbed them and climbed to her feet. They gazed into each other forget
the pain of bumping their heads together.Carly felt like she had fallen
into his eyes and he was looking right through her.Jason couldn't help
but start to lean in for a kiss. She didn't want to but she closed her eyes
and leaned too.Their lips meet.Carly couldn't help but think she had never
kissed anyone the way she kissed Jason.Jason was so glad it happened. His
feelings for her were just getting stronger but she never gave him any
real indication she felt the same way.Carly didn't know how long
it lasted but she didn't want it to end but then she thought about her
life she was starting and why she started it.It was so Jason could be happy
with Robin.Carly unwrapped her hands from Jason's neck and pushed him away. She
gave him a frighten look and picked up the roll of paper,"I have to throw
this away."Carly said and walked out.
Jason stood confused. He was trying to figure out what he did wrong.Carly
walked out to the trash can out by the gate of her house. She held onto
the bars of the gate and held herself up.She knew it was over between Robin
and Jason but couldn't help but think it would happen again. No matter what
she did Robin could come in and out of his life whenever she wanted too.Robin
could hurt Jason in a million ways and he'd still love her unconditionally.Carly
pressed her head against the bars and cried.Jason told her that he
broke up with Robin but Carly didn't think that was true.Jason would never
dump the love of his life not for anyone for any reason. She wasn't going
to let everything she had worked so hard for slip through her hands because
she was falling in love with Jason all over again. No way.No how.Not now.She
regained her composure and walked back to her house.Jason was looking out
one of the many windows in her house.
Carly closed the door and Jason spun around to face her.Carly cleared
her throat,"Thanks for helping me."She was determined to move on more now
than before.
"Carly,I was begining to get worried."Jason looked so sincere.
Carly had to stop thinking he'd actually care,"You shouldn't worry
about things you can't fix."
Jason could feel his heartbreaking. He held back a tear that he wanted
so bad to let her see but he wasn't going to guilt her into something she
didn't want.Jason nodded and left.Carly felt like he really wanted the
kiss to happen but she shook the thought off.She grabbed her bookbag and
locked the door before leaving.
The next day Carly's furniture and this was the day she really moved
in.She had a computer upstairs and a labtop downstairs.Each room had it's
own special design in terms of furniture and scenery.Carly had a table
in almost every corner of the biggest room in her house(the front room)
she had a couch in the middle of the room so she could sit there and see
through all the windows she had.She had a black chaise lounge chair by
a window on left side.On the right side she had a small desk for her labtop. It
was balck and so was the rolling chair. She had a tall lamp besides the
labop table. There was a coffee table, two in tables, and two lamps on the
tables by the couch. Her couch was blood red and really went well with the
rest of her black furniture in the room.It was still dark but different. And
last of all in the room she had a book case in the only corner without
and in table had a bookcase. She had her very favorite books like Foxfire
by Joyce Carol Oates, poetry, and romance novels cluttering the selves along
with a CD player. In the kitchen the only thing was new was the solid oak
table she had gotten. In her hallway she had some art paintings and poster. One
of her big rooms was used for a media room.It had dark green furniture
and black enetainment system. The other room was where she worked on paintings
and other various art.Upstairs the first room had Carly's computer and
notepads for her ideas but besides that nothing. The next room was Michael's
and the last room was Carly's.Carly knew for sure the house fit her now.Carly
walked into her front room with her favorite CD in hand, the Great Expectations
Soundtrack. She programmed her CD player for number seven, six, and three. She
had all the lights off and she was black shorts,a short white shirt, and
a long sleeved green/black/gray flannel shirt. She laid on her couch and
looked out at the rain that fell down her window. Her tears fell frequently
as she thought about the kiss,Jason, and how her life was going so good
but was now a wreck. She cried listening to the words that were so true
to her.She had Bobbie listen to the song and Bobbie didn't quite understand
it but Carly understood it perfectly.

Wishful Thinking
Listen to the waves
Everything communicates
Will it ever be
Anything more
than wishful thinking?
Oh no there you go
Looked away and
missed the show
How much wasted time
Will you survive?
Feel the blades of grass
How it brings you back
It will always be
Only as green
as you can see
Oh no there you go
Looked away and
missed the show
How much wasted time
will you survive?
Oh yeah fooled again
I don't know how
and I don't know when
Not much else to blame
But wishful thinking
Little breakdowns
In coastal towns
They come suddenly
Crashing over you
They come easily
I'm falling
through the skies
And frozen places
Oh no there you go
Looked away and
missed the show
How much wasted time
Will you survive?
Oh yeah fooled again
I don't know how
and I don't know when
Not much else to blame
But wishful thinking
And I try to realize
That I needn't look
any further
The whole of the universe
Is plain to see
And I try not to rely
On another world
or the future
The whole of the universe
Is a mystery
And it gets me over
Yeah it gets me over you
And it gets me over
Yeah it gets me over you
As her next song began she slowly got up and walked over to the pictures
she had on one of her in tables. She picked up one of her newer pictures
of Jason and Michael. She started to sniffle as she wiped away her tears.

Like A Friend
Don't bother saying sorry
Why don't you come in?
Smoke all my cigarettes - again.
Everytime I get no further
How long has it been?
Come on in now
Wipe your feet on my dreams.
You take up my time
Like some cheap magazine
When I could have been
learning something
Well, you know what I mean.
I've done this before
And will do it again
C'mon and kill me baby
While you smile like a friend
And I'll come running
Just to do it again
The beat started to kick in and Carly put her picture down. She jumped up and down while spinning. She didn't know that Bobbie was knocking on the door.Bobbie went to look at Carly through the window.Bobbie had talked to Jason earlier and he told her what happened.
You are the last drink I never should have drunk
You are the body hidden in the trunk
You are the habit I can't seem to kick
You are my secrets on the front page every week.
You are the car I never should have bought
You are the train I never should have caught
You are the cut that makes me hide my face
You are the party that makes me feel my age.
Carly stopped jumping but still danced. She ran her hands half way through her hair and held on to the soft strands while she shook her hips side to side.Bobbie knew Carly was trying to forget what was happened.Jason had confused her.She was getting use to her new life but now that thought was gone.Jason didn't know it at the time but he had changed everything.
Like a car crash I can see but just can't avoid
Like a plane I've been told I never should board
Like a film that's so bad but
I've just got to stay 'til the end
Let me tell you -
it's lucky for you that we're friends.
During the last part of the song Carly started to cry again she ignore it but it will still be there. She would've still kissed Jason and he would have still kissed back. Her life was changing and she didn't want it to now.The last song she programmed began to play.
Mono
Life In Mono
The stranger sang a theme
From someone else's dream
The leaves began to fall
And no one spoke at all
But I can't seem to recall
When you came along
Ingenue
Ingenue
I just don't know what to do
The tree lined avenue
Begins to fade from view
Drowning past regrets
In tea and cigarettes
But I can't seem to forget
When you came along
Ingenue
Bobbie couldn't take watching her daughter cry.Bobbie went back the
door and punded her fist,"Carly! It's me,Bobbie."Bobbie shouted.
"Mom?"Carly lifted her head a little then yelled,"Go Away!"
Bobbie groaned,"Carly,I know what happened.Jason told me."
Carly laughed in self pity and then screamed,"I don't want to talk! Please,"Carly
lowered her voice,"Go away."
Bobbie sighed,"Ok,Carly.I'm leaving but call me if I can help."
Carly whispered,"Nobody can help."Carly then stood and went to the
in table where she had most of her pictures. She lifted up Virginia's picture,"Except
maybe you but you not here are you?"Carly felt the rage pile in her,"And
I'm stuck!"Carly then threw the picture at a wall.
Do Do Do Do Do Do Do
I just don't know what to do
Do Do Do Do Do Do Do
I just don't know what to do
(Repeat until end)
Carly looked at the broken glass on the ground. She carefully went over to pick up the picture,"What have I done,Momma?I'm sorry."She cleared the glass from the frame and saw that luckily the picture wasn't scratched. She put the picture back and cleaned up.When Carly went to lay in her bed she realized she hadn't seen her mom in over a year. She nodded to herself,"I'll see you soon."And fell asleep.
Jason couldn't get to sleep. He wanted to do something to help or make up for what he had done.He tried to think as hard as he could. He looked at the picture he had of Carly and Michael. He was sadden by that famous thought,'What Could Have Been?'He smiled slightly and laid the picture back down.As he walked back to his room he got an idea that Carly would love.
Carly was up early packing. She was going to see when the earliest flight
to Florida was.She threw a few things besides her clothes and zipped it
up.She made sure everything was intact and took her suitcase downstairs. She
put her suitcase down for a second and checked downstairs.Right as she
was about to leave there was a knock.Carly thought for a second,"Bobbie?"She
ran to the door and opened it with the greeting of,"Bobbie!"
Jason was holding Michael,"I'm sorry were you expecting her."
Carly smiled,"No it's ok.Hi,Michael."She grabbed Michael and kissed
his forehead,"Jason,why are you here?"
"I have a surprise for you."Jason said and put his hands behind his
back.
Carly was curious,"What surprise?"
"Well,Michael and I were hoping that if you were free you might want
to come with us."Jason teased.
"Where?"Carly asked.
"Florida."Jason replied,"I thought you might want to go."
Carly wanted to cry.It was so sweet,"Jason, that's so nice."Carly hugged
him,"Thank you.I would love to go."
Jason looked past her and saw a suitcase,"Were you going somewhere?"
"Yeah.Florida."Carly grinned and Jason was glad he surprised her.
On the plane there...
Carly made sure Michael was asleep and looked at Jason who gazed outside. She
rubbed her hands against her knees and got up.She sat next to Jason and
took his hand.Jason's head quickly turned.Carly had a tear fall,"Thank
you."
"It's ok,Carly.I wanted to make up for my mistake."Jason shifted his
body to face her,"I shouldn't have kissed you."
Carly shrugged,"I'm begining to think it wasn't a mistake."Carly patted
his hand and went back to her seat next to Michael.Jason felt a tingle
inside and looked away. This trip came at the perfect time.
Carly,Jason, and Michael settled their stuff in their hotel rooms. They
had two rooms next to each other. They were now heading for the cemetery.Carly
was feeling horrible. If her mother could hear her that would mean that
she hadn't heard from Carly in over a year.Carly had been so much since
the last time her last visit with Virginia. She had shot Tony, went to Ferncliff, lost
Jason to Robin, almost lost Michael too, gotten closer with Bobbie, and began
her new life.No matter what she wanted her mother included. The car pulled
stopped.Jason was holding Michael and saw Carly look out but not move,"You
ready?"
Carly took a deep breath,"I think so."Carly opened the door.
Carly was carrying Michael as they walked to Virginia's grave. When
Carly saw Virginia's headstone she wanted to bust into tears but kept them
held back. She still didn't want to believe her mother, the only person that
had loved her all her life no matter what she did or said, was dead. She
took the bouquet of flowers from Jason's hand and handed him Michael.Jason
saw how she had been tensing up ever since they started walking towards
the grave.Carly loved the way Jason had changed the headstone. She knelt
next to the headstone and it read:
'Virginia Besen Beloved Mother and Grandmother of Carly Bensen and
Michael Morgan.'
She stroked the letters and looked up at Jason,"It's beautiful,Jason. That's
my mom."She slightly laughed as she smiled,"She would have loved it.It's--perfect."
Jason sat Michael in his stroller,"I wasn't sure if that's what you
wanted."
Carly giggled,"No,it's exactly what I wanted."Her smile slowly faded,"It's
weird I thought it was suppose to get easier as time pasted."The warm tears
began to fall down her chilled cheeks,"It's not any easier."
"That only works for some people,Carly.I mean it's only been about
a year or so.It depends on the person it might take more time for you."Jason's
word comforted her.
She still had tears falling though,"I sometimes think she isn't dead.I
pretend she's just on some long vacation and forgot to write me or maybe
she's made because of something I did.But then I have to tell myself she's
not angry and I'll never get those letters."She wiped her tears but they
didn't stop.
"I'll leave you with her,ok?"Jason said.
Carly nodded,"Ok,yeah, thanks."Jason and Michael left Carly with Virginia. She
laid down the flowers,"Hi,Momma.Sorry I haven't be by in so long.Um...I
have been doing ok I guess.Considering everything.I moved in with Bobbie
for awhile which was nice and you'd be happy to know that she forgives
me for everything and we're getting along great."Carly took a mintue
to gain her composure and continued,"I moved into this beautiful house
and you would love it.I put up some of our favorite colors blue and green.I
am doing these books that I'm sure you'd love.I am doing something you
said I 'd be good at.It's part of why I wanted to do it,you know?I loved
my new place and my family. It's just not the same without you.Your probaly
wondering why I'm doing so much moving."Carly laughed and began to explain,"I
had to move out of the penthouse because I couldn't take him and Robin.I--it's
really different to be living on my own again but I like it.I have everything
I need.So please if your listening don't worry,ok?"
"But how can I not."A sweet familiar voice called out.
Carly turned and saw a beautiful woman. It was Virginia.Carly rubbed
her eyes,"Momma?"She felt herself choke as she said it.
"What?"Virginia smiled.
Carly struggled,"But you're--you're dead,Momma.You shouldn't be talking
to me."
"Oh,Carly,I had to come back and talk to you.You are going to make
a big mistake if I don't."Virginia sat Carly down on a stone bench near.
Carly's mouth was open a little and she looked at Virginia in disbelief.
"Carly,it's about Jason."Virginia stroked her daughter's cheek.
"Jason?"Carly's eye brows rose,"Is something wrong with Jason?"
"He is trying,Carly.Believe it or not.And I know you want to believe
it."Virginia tucked her daughter's hair behind her ears.
Carly shook her head,"How do you know I want to believe it?"
"Because I have been watching you ever since you ran out on Jason the
night of the kiss. And trust me when I say that was a very odd move on your
part. Also I saw how you have behaved the night you decided to come and
see me."
"I'm sorry I threw your picture I was just confused."Carly apologized.
"I know,sweetheart.It was just a horrible incident."Virginia excused
her.Carly turned away and Virginia had to finish up quickly,"Listen,I know
you think your doing the right thing by trying to ignore everything with
Jason but your not."
Carly shrugged,"So what do I do?"
Virginia grinned,"Stop that!"Virginia and Carly laughed,"But then let
whatever happens--happen."
"Ok,Momma."Carly agreed.
"Ok,I got to go.Take care of yourself,sweety."
After that Virginia was gone before Carly could say anything more.Carly
stood and spun around.
"Carly, you ok?"Jason inquired looking around with her.Michael was in
his stroller.
Carly ran to him and wrapped her arms around him.
"Ok."Jason said and embraced her,"I can handle that answer."
Carly laughed and closed her eyes. She was glad she saw her mom now
she knew she couldn't hide her feelings for Jason anymore and she didn't
have to.If Virginia said it would be ok it would.
That night Jason,Michael, and Carly returned to the hotel.Jason settled
Michael into Carly's room. There was an arkward moment between Jason and
Carly.Carly swung her arms around her sighed,"So?"
Jason nodded,"So?"
Carly smiled,"It's getting late."
"Yeah it is.We'll probaly leave early tommorrow."Jason brought up and
went to the door.
Jason was about to open the door when Carly called after him,"Jason."
Jason stayed by the door and turned to her,"Yeah."
Carly walked to him and slid her hand slowly across his cheek,"Thanks."
Jason grinned,"It's no problem,Carly.I--"
Jason was cut off by Carly. She had got up enough courage to kiss him
again.Jason didn't pull away he just accepted her suggestion.Carly finally
pulled away and laughed,"Goodnight,Jason."She was slightly amused by his
surpsied face.
He slowly opened his eyes,"Goodnight,Carly."
Carly opened her door,"See you, tommorrow."Carly playfully pushed him
out.
Jason still stood outside for a mintue.Carly smiled at him one last
time and waved as she closed the door. She pressed her head against the
door and Jason was on the other side with his back to the door. What
was that all about?
They did wake up pretty early to leave for Port Charles.Carly for the
first time had fell asleep on the plane although Jason being with her and
Michael did help her fall sleep a little easier.Bobbie was waiting at Jason's
penthouse for them.Jason and Carly spent time with her.Carly kissed Michael
goodbye and Jason took her home. They drove up the pathway to Carly's house.Jason
carried Carly's suitcase into her house.Carly unlocked the door and they
both walked in.She threw her keys on one of her intabels in the front room. She
pressed the message button on her answering machine. She hung up her light
black coat she had on over her black jeans and white shirt.Jason sat on
the couch and listened to the message too.
Carly,it's me,John.The whole office loved your newest story.We can't
wait to she what you have planned next for Destiny. But there were a few
things we'd like to talk about so please call us back when you get this
message.Goodbye.
Jason cleard his throat,"Sounds like they liked your latest creation."Jason
comfirmed.
Carly walked in shaking her head,"Yeah right. They want to change something.I
can tell by his tone and when they want to talk about something they want
to change it."
"So you don't like writing anymore?"Jason asked.
"No,I love writing.Plus I usually can convince them my version was
better."Carly handed him a coke she had grabbed from the kitchen.
"Thanks."
"Thanks so much for the trip it was beyond perfect."Carly took a sip
of her soda then frowned,"Can you talk?"
Jason smiled,"Yeah.Lucas is gone tonight Bobbie wanted to make sure
she could watch Michael. So I'm no hurry."
"Ok."Carly nodded.
"Ok,how was it talking to Virginia?"Jason sat back in the couch.
"It helped especially with everything that's happening lately. With
this job, house, and everything else."Carly sat back too.
"You looked better when you left though."Jason said.
"I was.It helped a lot."Carly responed.
They made small talk for hours both dancing around the subject of 'them','the
kiss',and the future. Finally looked at how late it was.He didn't want to
leave though. He was really talking with her about any and everything. She
was laughing and smiling. It was like the way things use to be.But he knew
it wasn't true.He looked away from Carly and saw that this was her house
and they weren't like they use to be.He wasn't to say anything the kiss
in Florida was probaly just to thank him. When the next pause came around
he stood up,"It's late."
Carly nodded,"Your probaly right."
Jason was about to leave Carly stopped him.
Carly felt an ache in her stomach she couldn't let him leave. She stepped
in front of the door.Jason wasn't sure what she was doing,"What?"He laughed.
"Do you have to leave?"Carly questioned sounding sadden by the thought.
"Why did you need something?"
Carly scratched the back of her neck,"Um--I just don't want you to
leave."
"Why?"Jason was hurt and confused if she wanted him she would say so
right?
Carly locked her door and walked to him. They were just inches apart
when she whispered,"I just don't want to be alone tonight. Not anymore."Carly
placed her hands on his chest,"I really don't want you to leave."She laid
her head against his chest also listening to the beat of his heart.
Jason spoke softly into her ear,"What are you saying,Carly?"
Carly pulled back and looked into his eyes,"I don't want to be without
you anymore."She shrugged with a tear falling down,"I miss you.I've missed
you."
Jason was so happy to hear her say that,"I missed you too,Carly."
Carly and Jason closed there eyes and let what was going to happen...happen.Jason
picked her up and walked to her room.He laid her on the silk sheets of
her bed.He gently kissed her lips and started to stray to her neck.Carly
then had a sudden thought,"Wait."Carly sat up.
Jason started to panic,"What?"
"If this is happening...I mean really happening other things will happen
right?"Carly looked a little confused.
"Hopefully."Jason grinned deviantly and started to kiss her neck again.
Carly loved it but moved back again,"I don't want to lose what I have
now.My job,my house,my life I don't want to lose everything I've worked
so hard for."
Jason put his hand on the side of her face,"We'll work something out."Jason
promised.
"Ok."Carly giggled and started to kiss him again. They were going to
move on...together.
