A Love to Last a Lifetime 13

Chapter 70

Lucky and Liz were strolling along the docks.  It had been such a fun evening.  They had all had dinner and then they had gone dancing at the local under-21 club.  They had danced for hours and finally Liz had whispered in Lucky’s ear “I want to be alone with you.”  Lucky’s heart nearly jumped out of his chest and he went to find Nik and Em.  He told them they were heading out.  The couples went their separate ways.

Liz was thinking about how deeply she loved Lucky.  He was the best thing that had ever happened to her and she knew that her life would be completely different if he wasn’t a part of it.  She sighed out loud.

Lucky who had been lost in his own thoughts heard Liz’s sigh.  “What is it Elizabeth?” he asked softly as he wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and pulled her closer to him.

“I was just thinking about how much I love you.  I hope you know that, I would be nothing without you.  You make me whole.”  Liz turned in Lucky’s arms and kissed him softly.

Lucky was surprised at first by her initiative.  He had been trying to give her all the time she needed to resume a physical relationship with him, even though it had been tough on him he had done it for Liz.  Now it seemed as if she was telling him she was ready to be with him again.  He stifled the desire to pull her closer and deepen the kiss because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to stop there.  He needed her so much it almost hurt but he wanted it to be right for her.

Liz felt Lucky tense slightly and pulled away.  “Is something wrong?”  Liz saw the desire in Lucky’s eyes and understood.  “Why don’t we go home Lucky, there is something I want to show you.”  She kissed him softly again then started back to Kelly’s.

AJ came out of his hiding place after Lucky and Liz were out of sight.  He was frustrated and to quell his feelings he punched a hole in one of the nearby crates.  He hadn’t been alone with Liz in weeks.  He needed her desperately.  It was getting more and more difficult to wait, but he would have to be patient a little bit longer.  He had just put his plan in motion, but he knew that this time it would work for sure because this time he was focusing on his angel from the beginning instead of relying of fate to bring him to her.

Nikolas had been reluctant to leave Emily.  He didn’t want their evening to end so soon even though it was well past midnight.  It seemed that there was so much for them to share and he wanted to start right away instead of waiting until morning.  He had asked her to come back on the launch with him so they could stroll around the grounds together.  They were in the gardens walking hand in hand when Nikolas finally spoke.  “Emily, there is something we need to discuss.”

Emily immediately tensed.  She had thought the evening went well with lots of stolen glances and secret, seemingly accidental touches.  Now he wanted to “discuss something with her.  Was it that he didn’t want to start seeing her after all?  She sighed and reluctantly brought her eyes up to meet his.

Chapter 71

<Wyndemere>

Nikolas saw the worry enter Emily’s beautiful eyes and smiled.  He was actually falling in love with her.  “Emily, why don’t we sit down.”  He led her to a near by bench and sat motioning for her to join him.  Emily let out a sigh and sat on the bench next to Nikolas.  Their legs brushed and Emily shivered at the jolt that went through her system.  Why was it that every time they touched she felt as though she would burst from the sheer pleasure of it?

She waited patiently for Nikolas to speak, but for some reason he just sat on the bench staring at her as if mesmerized by what he saw.  Finally he reached out and ran his finger down her cheek.  Emily felt the touch all the way down to her toes.  She smiled and turned her face into the palm of his hand.  She began to place small kisses on the palm of his hand and on each of his fingers.

Nikolas groaned at the feel of her soft lips on the palm of his hand.  Once she reached his pinky finger he could no longer stand it.  On an oath he tangled his fingers in her hair and pulled her to him.  His lips met hers tentatively at first, but they quickly became more demanding.  He touched his tongue to her lips and moaned when he felt them part and admit him into her mouth.  She tasted like the strawberries and cream they had for dessert mixed with something that was uniquely her.

Emily instinctively brought her hands up his back and felt his muscles give under the pressure of her fingertips.  She wanted to touch every part of him all at once and was overcome by the need to be closer to him.  She shifted slightly, but enough to bring more of their bodies into contact.  She moaned with pleasure as she felt Nikolas’ hands begin to roam her body.

Finally they broke apart, both breathless and overcome with emotion.  Nikolas’ eyes were glazed over with desire and their expression mirrored Emily’s.  Finally he spoke.  “Emily, I love you.  I don’t know how or when, I just know that it’s true, I love you with all that I am.”

Emily’s mind was reeling.  How long had she been waiting to hear him say those very words?  Too long.  She had made herself believe it would never happen, but now here she was with the man of her dreams and he was saying that he loved her!  She looked at him and tears filled her eyes.  When she saw the look of devastation cross his face she brought her hand up to caress his cheek.  He needed to shave, but still she reveled in the ruggedness she found there.  “Nikolas, I can’t tell you how long I have waited for this moment.  I have dreamt about it so many times that now I have to remind myself that this is real.  I love you too.  I have since the first day I saw you.”  She wrapped her arm around his neck and brought his lips crashing down on hers once again.

<Kelly’s>

Liz was in the room she shared with Lucky.  She had convinced Lucky to wait downstairs until she was ready.  She smiled as she lit the last candle.  She stole a quick glance in the mirror and swallowed some last minute nerves as she reached for the doorknob.

She walked down the steps and over to Lucky.  He was standing looking out the windows in the front of Kelly’s.  She couldn’t help but think about how absolutely beautiful he was.  She walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist.  She felt him start momentarily and then relax and rest his head on her chest.

Her touch always made his world right.  Slowly he turned and looked into her eyes.  He knew if he kissed her he would not want to stop, but he also knew he would if she asked.  The decision was taken away from him though when she cupped her hand behind his head and brought his mouth down to meet hers.  Lucky tightened his hold fearing that his knees would give way as her tongue made its way into his mouth.  He groaned at the familiar taste of her, one he had been craving for what seemed like forever.

She broke the kiss and wordlessly led him up the stairs and into their room.  The room was aglow with the candles she had lit and there was a faint breeze coming from the window that worked to disperse the faint smell of sandalwood from the incense Liz had placed on the sill.

Lucky slowly looked around trying to take in every thing at once.  The sights, the scents, the textures, but most importantly Elizabeth.  She looked gorgeous; the candle light flickered off the golden highlights in her hair and made her eyes dance.  Suddenly he was a bundle of nerves mixed with anticipation.

Elizabeth moved towards him.  “Lucky” she said huskily, “I love you, and I want to make love to you tonight.”  Liz couldn’t believe she had actually said it, but once she did she knew it was right.  She moved closer to him and pressed her body up against his.

He could feel the full length of her body against his and he felt a jolt of electricity go through him.  Immediately he felt himself harden.  He put a hand on each of her cheeks and looked deep into her eyes.  “Are you sure you’re ready for this?”  When she nodded he brought his lips crashing down on hers.  He wanted to be gentle, but passion was taking over.  He brought his hands down to her shoulders and slipped the straps of her dress off.  He broke the kiss momentarily to look at her.  The milky whiteness of her skin took on a glow in the candle-light beckoning him to touch it.  He ran his hand down her shoulder and over her breast and watched her reaction.

Liz’s eyes clouded at his touch.  She moaned softly and reached out to move her hand under his shirt.  She lost herself in the feel of him.  She felt his muscles quiver at her touch and smiled in satisfaction.  She stepped back and removed her dress and watched as he removed his shirt.  When his fingers moved to the button on his jeans she stopped him.  “Let me do that.”

Lucky stopped and met her eyes.  He watched as she stepped towards him.  Her fingers were shaking as she worked on the button.  Once it was freed she worked the zipper down.  When the back of her hand gently brushed over him it was his undoing.  He grabbed her and brought his lips to hers.  They were touching, skin on skin and Lucky couldn’t take anymore and he lifted her in his arms and gently lowered her to the bed.  He stepped out of his jeans and joined her there.

He began to rain kisses all down her body stopping at the places that made her moan and then moving on.  He couldn’t get enough of her.  He wanted to touch her everywhere and not miss a spot.

Liz arched her back when he found the most sensitive part of her.  “Lucky, I love you, Please don’t stop.”  She hadn’t even realized she had spoken as she rode the wave of her climax.    Lucky watched her face as she calmed.  Slowly he entered her and watched as her eyes clouded over again.

“Elizabeth, I love you,” he said softly as he lost himself inside of her and his the climax he had been working to hold back ripped through him.

Chapter 72

<Kelly’s>

Liz awoke with a smile on her face which deepened when she felt the pressure of Lucky’s arm across her chest.  She rolled over and found herself staring into his deep blue eyes.  “Hi, how long have you been awake?  Why didn’t you wake me?”

Lucky smiled.  “No long.  I was enjoying looking at you.  I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming.”  He bent and kissed her softly.  He noted her lips were still slightly swollen from the previous evening’s activities.

Liz was just about to deepen the kiss when they heard a knock on the door.  “Lucky?  Liz?  Open the door. I need to talk to you.”  The voice was Emily’s.  Though disappointed at the interruption they smiled at each other.  “Just a minute Em!” Liz called as she went in search of her robe.  Liz reached the door and did a quick check to make sure Lucky was decent.  Emily stood there with a bag of bagels and three coffees in her hands and an enormous grin on her face.  She threw herself into Liz’s arms.

“You’re never going to guess!  You won…” The words died on her lips as she took in the scene.  There were burned out candles all around and the ashes from the incense remained on the window sill.  Her face turned red as she realized that she wasn’t the only one who had had an unforgettable evening.  “I’m so sorry, I’ll come back later.”  She started to back out the door when Liz grabbed her arm.

“Oh no you don’t we don’t mind and we want to here about your evening.”  She looked to Lucky for support.  “Don’t we Lucky?”

“Absolutely” he said with only an hint of regret in his voice.  “Why don’t we sit down and enjoy that coffee and whatever is in the bag.”  He was already liberating Emily of her wares and digging in.

<General Hospital>

V was sitting in Jason’s room waiting for Mac and Robin to return, she was able to convince Mac to put a police officer on his room full time, but so far it had been a fruitless effort.  There had been no change in Jason’s condition nor had there been anymore incidents.  She knew it was hard on Robin, and wished they had more leads.

She was just about to sit in a chair when the door opened.  Expecting to see Robin and Mac enter she turned with a sarcastic remark about keeping others waiting.  It died on her lips when she saw the visitor was AJ Quartermaine.

“Oh, hello.  I can leave and give you some privacy if you would like.”  AJ was seething inside.  Last night he had seen Liz and Lucky kissing in the windows of Kelly’s and now this irritating cop was here so he couldn’t even talk to his brother in peace.  He wanted to share his plans with him.  He knew he would appreciate his brilliance.  “Oh no, it’s quite alright.  I just wanted to see if there was any change.  I can see that there hasn’t been. I’ll just come back later.”

Before V could argue he was gone.  She shrugged her shoulders and sat down to wait for Mac.

<Luke’s>

Luke was reviewing the paperwork he had obtained from Reynaldo.  He would not verbally state anything that may incriminate Jason or those close to him but he did agree to give Luke the files that Jason had kept on Lucky and Liz.  They contained pictures and notes made by the guards.  The problem was that the files had not been updated since approximately a week prior to Lucky’s “accident” with any written notes.  There were a few pictures from that period, but even those were scarce.

Luke was on his third cup of coffee and could already tell it was going to be a long day.  He was on his third pass over the files and had begun to arrange them in reverse chronological order to see if anything jumped out at him.  He was just to the photos of the scene at the school the day Sarah Webber was killed when something caught his eye.

<Wyndemere>
Nikolas was just bringing Sheba into the stables.  He had risen early unable to sleep any longer.  He was supposed to meet Emily for a late lunch, but he knew he wouldn’t last that long.  He missed her and didn’t sleep because he kept replaying the evening in his mind.  He loved her, but the best thing was that she loved him too.  He never thought he would find happiness, and now that it was staring him in the face he wouldn’t turn it away.

With a quick pat on the neck he dismounted and gave Sheba her traditional morning apple.  He wasn’t as slow about it as normal and instead of handling the tack himself he left her to one of the stable hands.  He wanted to see Emily as soon as possible, if he was Lucky he could take the launch in with his Uncle.

<General Hospital>

AJ was watching Jason’s room from around the corner waiting for the coast to clear.  When Mac and Robin arrived it was only a matter of moments before he was able to return.  With a smile to the police officer and a brief exchange he entered the room.

“Hello brother dear” he said.

Chapter 73

Jason felt the familiar tug of reality.  He heard things, not everything, somehow his mind was filtering out what it wanted.  He hadn’t heard Robin’s voice, but he knew she had been there.  He heard the voices of the doctors saying there wasn’t a physical reason for his coma, and now he heard the familiar voice of AJ.  He could hear AJ taunting him.

“You are never going to wake up, because if you do I will torture everyone that is dear to you starting with Emily.”  Jason began to fight the demons that were keeping him down, but he was unable to open his eyes, let alone fight AJ.  It was better for everyone if he remained the way he was.  Without a fight Jason slipped back into his own world.

<Luke’s>

Luke was trying to form a picture of the psycho in his mind.  He was already starting to think like him and in his mind he knew that those close to Jason would be in danger.  Jason was the only one that knew the identity of this creep who would talk and therefore those close to him were logical targets.  Luke knew enough now to know that whoever was behind the most recent Port Charles crime wave was known around town.  It was definitely someone that Jason knew, but the question remained if Jason had business or personal ties with the individual.  Luke was leaning towards personal ties.

He sighed and rubbed his eyes, he had been staring at the pictures for hours and the only thing that had caught his eye was a stranger at the scene of the school bombing.  He had decided to enlarge the picture in the hopes of recognizing the person.  Luke flashed a glance towards the timer on the desk next to him.  Fifteen minutes and he would have his answer.  He was just getting up to fix another pot of coffee when the door to the club opened and Lucky walked in.

“Hey” Luke said uncertainly.  “What brings you here?”  Luke and Lucky had patched things up somewhat after Sarah’s death, but they hadn’t really spent any time alone together.

“I was hoping I could enlist your help.” Lucky paused.  He knew in his heart that Luke would help him, but he didn’t know how to voice his request.

Luke noticed Lucky’s hesitation and moved towards the coffeepot.  “Lucky, despite what has passed between us, you can ask for help and know that I will do everything in my power to accommodate your request.  I’m still your father.”

Lucky sighed and decided to take the plunge and ask his dad for help.

<Kelly’s>

Liz was working the beginnings of the lunch shift when the door opened and Laura walked in with LuLu.  Liz smiled and waved them over to the counter. “Hi, what brings you here?”

Laura smiled and started scanning the room.  “I promised LuLu and ice cream cone down on the docks and thought maybe we would stop by to see if you and Lucky wanted to tag along.  I don’t see him around though.”  Laura was mildly disappointed, but knew that an afternoon with the woman her son had chosen to love would be just as pleasant as one with her son.

“He isn’t here, he said he had some errands to run this morning, but he would be back in time for the late afternoon crowd.”  Liz smiled and watched Laura’s face for her reaction.  When she saw nothing but a welcoming smile Liz’s own smile deepened and she decided to be bold.  “Does the invitation still stand, I’m sure I could convince Ruby to give me an hour or so.”

Laura smiled, she definitely liked this girl a lot.  LuLu who was already in the back bugging her favorite Aunt came charging out “Ruby says Lucky is gone, but Luz is here, can she come anyway.  Pleeease?”  Laura smiled at her daughter then with a wink said, “I don’t know why don’t you ask her, I know she is really busy though.”

LuLu immediately flung herself at Liz.  “Please come with us Lizzie, I want chocolate chip cookie dough and mama said I could only get some if you or Lucky shared that and a scoop of plain vanilla with me.  Please come.  Please…” Liz was laughing, “Ok LuLu, Chocolate chip cookie dough and vanilla it is.”
