Caroline Morgan brushed her hair out of her face as she stared into
the
mirror. She gently rubbed her flat tummy, and extended it, trying to
make it
look fat and round. When the effect she had been looking for failed,
she
sighed and brushed some tears out of her eyes.
"Baby, did the results..." Jason Morgan's voice trailed off when he
saw his
wife standing in the middle of the bathroom, trying to fight off tears.=
Jason
wrapped an arm around Carly from behind and kissed her neck. "It's
alright.
We'll get pregnant."
Carly shook her head. "No, I mean, they didn't come in yet... But...I
can't
even remember what it was like being pregnant!!! The only child I got
to=
bear
from my body is gone somewhere...maybe dead!! Maybe be raised as someone=
elses
son!!!"
Jason turned her around. "I thought we agreed not to talk about that."
Carly shook her head. "How can I not? I mean, look at everyone around
us,
Jason!! Sonny and Brenda have two kids and she's about to pop out a
third,=
and
even Lucky and Elizabeth have only been married for TWO MONTHS and
she's
already pregnant!!! We've been married for eight years and I still
haven't
conceived!!"
Jason took her hands in his and raised them to her mouth. "I love you,
you
know that right?"
Carly nodded. "I love you too.."
"Then trust me when I say that whatever is going to happen is going
to=
happen
for a reason. Maybe you won't get pregnant because Michael's going
to pop up
into our lives one day-"
"Or maybe I won't get pregnant because I'm infertile!" Carly cried.
"Did you
ever think of that!?! God, Jason..."
He kissed her softly, just as the timer went off, announcing that the
pregnancy test results were ready. Carly froze. "I can't, I can't-"
Her=
voice
trailed off. "I can't go and look right now."
Jason reached over to the sink. He looked down at the test and when
he=
didn't
respond right away, Carly looked up from his shoulder. Seeing the little
negative sign on the test broke her heart. Jason grabbed her tight
and
whispered soft words of loyalty and love into her ear as she cried.

A.J. losened his tie after a long day of working at ELQ. He was
in his home
of five years, the
Gatehouse. Years ago, Ned moved to Brooklyn to reclaim his love,
Lois.
They remarried and
were aparently happy. A.J., on the other hand, has spent his
years rather
alone. Sure there was
that one year and a half when he was married to Keesha, but God knows
that
didn't work out. It
wasn't that there was something wrong with Keesha, it's just that he
didn't
love her.
A.J. sat down on the couch and picked the paper off the coffee table
and
started reading it. He
looked at the date. In a weeks it would have been ten exact years
since
Micheal had been
kidnapped from Carly and Jason. A.J. remembered doing everything
he could
in his power to find
that baby, but he couldn't do it.
He remembered the day he found Carly in the park, crying. She
was so sad,
the expression on
her face had actually broken his heart, even with all the anger and
resentment he had towards
her. Carly had confided in him her fears about Micheal.
The mob didn't
have him, the
Quartermaines didn't have him... no one could be found. It was
just some
stranger and it scared
her that she didn't know who was holding her baby. She wanted
to know if
Micheal was being
treated right. A.J. remembered trying to reassure her, but it
was all
pointless.
He remembered another time there was a big ELQ meeting, two weeks after
he
and Keesha had
eloped. Jason arrived with Justus and with Carly was at his arm.
Edward
wanted her out of
there, using the excuse that she was not a board member or a member
of the
family... Jason
announced that she was soon be both. A.J. remembered the reaction
his
parents had when
Jason announced they were getting married and Edward's tirade about
Jason
giving his fiance
ELQ stocks.
He also remembered how he and Carly met on the patio after the board
meeting. A.J. just walked
right up to her and congratulated her. Carly had picked that
moment to
apologize to him for all
the rotten things she had done to him.
They were on good terms ever since they talked that night. As
his anger and
resentment washed
away he realized more and more that he still loved her. He never
did
anything about it, though.
On the occasions when he and Carly did talk, she brought up how happy
she
was to be with
Jason, how much she needed him since Micheal disapeared. It always
broke
his heart.
A.J. looked over at the mantle of the fireplace and saw a picture of
Carly
and Jason on their
wedding day. Everyone had gotten a copy of it, even the rest
of the
Quartermaines. Jason had
softened up to Monica over the years, even Alan. Edward, though,
he still
wanted nothing to do
with.
A.J. got up and took the picture. He looked at Carly and then
Jason.
When I see the way she looks at him
Hurts so bad, you know it's such a sin
To see her love him while I just walk on by
(Nobody knows) what it does to me
(Nobody knows) no one could ever see
Nobody knows what it does to me
Now those tender looks upon her face
Are meant for someone else who's in my place
And he's her lover the way I used to be
I can see her dancing with someone else
Holding him so close while I'm by myself
I just want to hit him but that won't do
All I know is I've got to find some way
I can get to you
When I see the way she holds his hand
It burns inside me, I can't understand
How could she love him the way she once loved me
Nobody knows
A.J. put the picture back. He had never gotten over her and he
wasn't sure
if he ever would. No
woman could ever take her place in his heart...

Lucas Cassadine looked across the lirbrary and saw Serena Baldwin working
on
something or
rather, possably the same report he should be working on right now.
She had shoulder length, blond hair and the most beautiful blue eyes
he had
even seen on a
woman. Lucas had tried to ask her out once, but she already had
a date with
some guy and he
had been unable to ask her again.
He didn't really know much about her. Just that her mother died
of some
sickness and she had
been given birth to by her surrogate mother, Lucy Collins. Her
father,
Scott Baldwin, married and
divorced to Eve Lambert-Baldwin, had been a former aquaintence to his
mother
and uncle. He
just really knew he really liked her.
He also knew that his father, Tony Jones, had helped with her artificial
assemination. The only
good thing is father ever did, as far as he was concerned. Sure
he raised
him... for about eight
years and then disapeared without a trace to God knows where with not
so
much as a face to
face good bye, just some stupid, cowardly letter he left for Lucas
after he
abandoned him.
Lucas had felt a lot of resentment towards his father, ever since he
left.
The last time Lucas saw
his father, he assumed he would see him again until he read the letter.
Then he realized that he
was never coming back.
Lucas watched as Serena put away her stuff and left the school library.
He
watched every
second until she left. He decided he better go too. His
mother and step
father, Stefan
Cassadine, might get worried if he was not accounted for soon.

Micheal Jones rode his bike through the neighborhood. He had short,
red
hair under his baseball
cap. He wore sunglasses, a short sleeved blue shirt and a pair
of black
shorts. It was a sunny,
hot day, hardly any clouds in the sky. He knew it was cold in
some parts of
the world, but not in
good old San Fransisco.
Micheal drove his bike into the driveway of his home and parked his
bike in
the garage. He
noticed the car was gone, which meant his father was most likely at
work.
He figured he had
about an hour to do whatever he pleased, but on a day like this, what
was
there to do but watch
TV?
Micheal entered the house and was on his way to the living room when
he
thought of something
else he could do. His father never allowed him up in the attic.
Since he
was gone, why not go up
there and see what's the big deal is. Micheal walked up the stairs.
For
some reason Micheal was
a little scared to go up there. It was like, some way, some how,
his father
would know he went up
there and he would be grounded, all TV privilages taken away, but Micheal
kept going anyway.
He finally got up into the attic. It was rather dark in there.
His hand
wondered along the wall until
he found a switch. A few lights came on and it was suddenly bright
in
there. All he saw were a
bunch of boxes. Micheal started to wonder which one he should
go through
first. He picked the
small one nearest to him on a stack of two boxes. He opened it
up and just
saw a framed picture.
He took it out and saw that it was of a little girl. He looked
on back and=
saw:
B.J. on her 4th birthday
Micheal wondered who B.J. was. He kepted peaking through the box
to see if
there was anything
else, in there but his first observation was correct. There was
nothing but
the picture and packing
paper in the box.
Then Micheal heard the gaurage door opening. Micheal stuffed
the picture
back in the box and
went flying down the attic stairs. He closed the door behind
him and just
started to calmly walk
down the stairs.
The door to the gaurage opened and his father stepped through.
Tony said, "Hi, Micheal."
Micheal casually replied, "Hi dad."
"How was school today?" his father asked, hanging his coat up on the
rack."
"Okay." Micheal replied, almost croaking.
Micheal walked past him and through the hall to the living room.
Micheal
noticed he was walking
rather stiffly.
"Don't walk stiffly, he'll realize something is wrong!!!" Micheal
thought
to himself.
Micheal started to force himself to walk more normally into the living
room.
He relaxed onto the
couch, picked up the remote and turned on the TV.

Carly lay sullenly along she and Jason's bed, twirling her large diamond
engagement ring around her finger. She liked the way her engagement
ring and
wedding band matched up perfectly, she had always loved that. She remembered
how perfect she and Jason were, how they matched up perfectly... Such
a
perfect love, such a happy home should be rectified, she me remidied,
shouldn't it!?! They should be sprouting out babies like the next people,=
but
instead, Carly couldn't seem to conceive. It was the most devastating=
feeling
she had ever had.
Over the years, Carly had transformed from a pathological liar, a=
manipulator,
to a funny, graceful, respected, beautiful, mature woman. She and Jason
had
fallen in love during their grief over losing Michael, and eventually
he had
asked her to marry her. By then, Jason was head of the mob, even more=
powerful
and respected than Sonny had ever been. Jason was her life-line, plain
and
simple. Without him, her hero, her everything, she didn't know what
she=
would
do. He was the best friend she had ever had.
There were dimensions to him that no one had ever gotten to, because
he=
hadn't
let them. But he had let her. He trusted her, he respected her. That
trust=
and
love had been reciprocated. And Carly desperately wanted Jason to give
her=
the
baby she badly wanted. Jason was convinced she wanted a baby to replace
the
void in her heart where Michael had been, but Carly was adamant that
she
wanted to be a mother. Because she hadn't the chance before because
some
bastard took her little boy away from her.
"Baby? You ready to..." Jason's voice stopped when he saw Carly lying
across
the bed, staring down at her rings. "Hey!"
Carly turned and smiled weakly at him. "Still want to go to Luke's tonight?"
Jason nodded. "Is that a problem?"
Carly sat up. Jason watched her as she began to unbutton her blouse.
He
groaned. "Carly, c'm'on, don't do that now. DAMN!" He cursed when Carly
removed her shirt and he noticed that she hadn't bothered to put on
a bra.=
No
matter how much she had changed over the years, the restraight of=
brassiere's
sometimes made her feel uncomfortable, so she very rarely wore them
anymore.
"Make love to me." Carly whispered huskily. "Jason, I need you so much..."
Jason sighed as he stared at her. "Baby, you know what that does to
me..."=
He
groaned as Carly leaned up and grabbed him. She pulled him down on
top of=
him,
and kissed him hotly. Jason made a gutteral sound deep within his throat,
before grabbing her face and giving in.
------------------------------
Chapter 1
Carly leaned on Jason's shoulder as they entered Luke's. It was her
Uncles
50th birthday party,
and Laura, Lucky, Elizabeth and Bobbie were all throwing him a great
big
bash. As soon as she
walked in, Carly frowned at the sight of Brenda Barrett-Corinthos being
fused over by her
husband. So what if she was 9 months pregnant and ready to pop!?! Was
it
really nessesary for
them to be rubbing it in people's faces!?! My God!
Just what she wanted, Jason steered her right over to Sonny and Brenda.
"Hey, Jason." Brenda smiled, her arm drapped over her protruding belly.
"Hi,
Carly."
Carly smiled as best she could and replied, "Hey, Bren. How're ya feeling?"
Brenda rolled her eyes as Sonny wrapped a protective arm over her shoulders.
"Like I'm going to
explode any minute. Sonny hardly lets me out of his sight."
Jason smiled. "Well, being pregnant looks good on you." Carly secretly
rolled her eyes at this.
Sonny nodded in agreement. "It does, doesn't it? Actually, to be really
honest, my baby looks good in anything." He kissed her lips quickly,
and
Brenda leaned into him.
"So, you two look just as happy as we are." Sonny joked. Jason looked
down
at Carly, and saw
her playing with her finger nail. "Well, we keep thinking about Michael,
you
know?"Jason
whispered.
Brenda nodded sympathetically, and craned her neck to see who was coming
through the door.
"Oh!! There's Robin and Nikolas, I'm gonna go and say hi." She
started to
untangle herself from
her husband, but Sonny wouldn't allow it. Finally, Brenda just
grabbed his
hand and dragged him
away.
"You wanna go home?" Jason asked her.
Carly shook her head. "I want to stay. I do. But seeing Brenda and Sonny
so
happy about their
baby..." She sighed. "I want us to be like them, you know?"
Jason frowned. "Baby, we will be. One day. We just have to be patient,
alright? Very, very patient."
Carly wrapped her arms around Jason's neck and buried her face in his
chest.
"I love you so, so
much, Jason. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Jason kissed the top of her head. "I love you too, babe."
~=3D~
His father had gone to get some milk and Micheal decided it would be
the
perfect time to go into
the attic. Since he had found that picture of that girl named
B.J. hours
before, it was all he could
think about. Who was this B.J. girl? Someone important
enough that his
father would have
pictures of her on her birthday.
His father hasn't told him much about his past and Micheal was very
curious.
Especially about his
mother.
Micheal got into the attic and looked at all the boxes. He saw
one big box
a few feet away from
him and decided he might as well start there. He went over to
it and saw
that a few strips of
masking tape was keeping it closed. Without a thought, he pulled
the
masking tape off and
opened the box right open. There was some old junk, nothing really
helpful,
but he did see a
photo album. Realizing his father would be home any minute, Micheal
just
tucked the album
under his arm and closed the box.
Micheal went to his room and started going through the album.
It was
pictures of his father, some
woman and this baby from what must have been years ago. He took
one of the
pictures out of
the album and looked on the back. There it had the date and then
the names
Tony, Tonia,
Barbara Jean.
Micheal thought for a moment and then decided that Barbara Jean must
be B.J.
He kept flipping
through it but didn't really see anything helpful. All he could
gather from
this is that his father
knew a woman named Tonia and she had a daughter. Then, Micheal
looked at
the pictures a little
more closely and saw that his father was wearing a wedding ring.
"Oh my God... he was married and had another kid?" he said to himself.
Then
he wondered,
"Where are they now?"
He heard his father downstairs and in a panick, he shoved it under his
pillows and picked up a
comic.
~=3D~
A.J. was taking a shower when he heard the phone ringing. He shrugged
as he
stopped the water
and got out. He knew this was most likely going to be a buisness
call and
instead of taking a
shower and relaxing like he planned, he was probally going to have
to attend
some meeting
A.S.A.P.
"Hello?"
"A.J., it's Ned. You need to attend a meeting out in California."
"When?"
"You have to leave in two hours, arrangments have already been made
at Port
Charles
International, all the information will be faxed to you on the ELQ
private=
jet."
"Two hours? Couldn't you have given me a little more notice?"
"You wanted the job junior, quit your whining and get going."
"Fine, just say hi to Lois for me."
A.J. hung up and shrugged once again. He couldn't wait until he
wouldn't
have to take orders
from Ned anymore. He finished his shower and then got ready for
this
buisness trip.
~=3D~
Bobbie arrived home, at Wyndemere, early from Luke's party and
she was
exhausted. Bobbie
sat herself down on the couch in the conservatory.
Bobbie started to think about her daughter. Caroline didn't say
anything,
but she could tell she
was hurting seeing Brenda at the party, her pregnant with her third
child.
Bobbie could
understand what she was going through. To have one child you
couldn't raise
and be unable to
conceive anymore.
Bobbie was startled when Mary popped out of nowhere.
Mary: Hi, mommy.
Bobbie smiled at her daughter. Well, adopted daughter. Stefan
and Bobbie
adopted Mary three
years ago. Mary's parents died when she was a year old in a car
accident.
She was four now.
She had long, black hair and big green eyes.
Bobbie: Hello, Mary. Do you know where your father is?
Mary: He said he had to go on a buisness trip to Cali-fourn-ia.
He left a
note on the dresser for
ya.
Bobbie: Well, then I guess it's just you an me, then. What do
you want to=
do?
Mary: Can you read me that story father used to read Nikolas when he
was my=
age.
Bobbie: What's the title?
Mary: I can't remember... but father left it on the night stand in
my room
last night.
Bobbie: Okay, then let's go.
Bobbie followed the energetic four-year-old up to her room.
